Booked a table for 2 for birthday meal. The restaurant was clearly overbooked with Christmas party and our table was half in the entrance area and in the waitress way for serving other guests. We didn?t stay. Why treat people this badly when they make a booking in good faith? You ruined our night with your poor planning, obviously tempted by the pure greed of fitting another couple of guests in to a full restaurant.

Highly recommended. A little off the centre of the city but well worth the trip. Well balanced menu that will suit all tastes. Quality ingredients, presented with style. Fulsome portions. Great value. This is usually very busy so book to avoid disappointment. Service is professional and as one would expect from a Thai restaurant, friendly and happy.

Best restaurant in Colchester (I?d argue - Best restaurant that I?d ever been too!) Naka Thai Never disappoints! I?ve been countless times, both locations. The new venue is a step above the rest! We?ve attended with friends, family, and as a couple and there is nothing but good things to say. The Staff are lovely, service is great, cocktails made to perfection and the food is always amazing! Massive selection of food, always so accommodating. Can?t wait to go back!

We had a takeaway from here on Friday night it was fantastic I had the yellow curry which was delicious my husband had the crispy sea bass we ordered starters the soup was superb we will definitely visit the restaurant and definitely order a takeaway again fantastic food!

We only live a ten minute cycle ride from here so decided to try it. We went on a Friday evening and although it was easy for two of us to get a table I think a larger party would need to book ahead. The staff were lovely and so helpful. I am vegetarian but also gluten intolerant and the menu was clearly marked with absolutely loads of options available to me. In fact there were so many options it was hard to choose. I had the Tom yum soup with mushrooms ( very spicy but delicious) followed by a noodle dish which I'm sorry to say, I can't remember the name of. My husband had dumplings to start and crispy roast pork with egg fried rice. The portions were a good size and we couldn't manage dessert , just opting for a coffee instead. The food was very fresh and tasty .The new building is really attractively decorated and the whole place had a nice atmosphere. Our meal came to £70 including a tip which I think is about right. My only comment would be the total lack of cycle parking. We chained our bikes to the fence only to find them almost boxed in by cars when we left. A secure bike rack would be a big bonus. We will definitely return as I need to try some of the other gf vegetarian options.

Great food, well presented with fab taste. Please note they do shove a service charge on the Bill though even with a group of 4/5 ! I expect a service charge for a large group not for a family meal ! Food gread, service charge pants

It was our first time visiting naka thai since they moved to haven road , it is such an improvement from the previous restaurant. The food has always been amazing and the service very good . But the new location is walking distance for us so we can have a couple of cocktails with our meal without trying to get a taxi home . Will definitely visit again soon

Lovely interior and lovely waiter unfortunately everything had a rather sweet taste to it ?my pork stir fry had no heat to it even though it showed two chillies on the menu. Weeping tiger steak was very underwhelming I made it at home and it was far superior!! Unfortunately not for us thought we try a different Thai restaurant from our usual one glad we did but they need to improve their dishes possibly far too large a menu to get every dish spot on!

We all had a brilliant experience at Naka Thai a few weeks ago. A large group of us (12) went for my father's birthday. They were nothing but accommodating, letting us have our table (large enough for our group and not crowded) all evening if we wanted. They also allowed us a small table outside the sit with for drinks whilst waiting for guests and again later in the evening with more drinks. They let us bring our own cake, even adding the candles for us and bringing it out when ready. And the service for such a large group was top notch, everyone had all the drinks they wanted when they wanted, food was out quickly and nothing was incorrect. The food itself was some of the best Thai food we had all ever had. Big hits at the table included the dragon wings and tom kha soup. We loved the variety in the menu with enough alcoholic free cocktails and vegetarian dishes to suit all different dietary requirements. Everyone enjoyed every bite of their dinner and plans are already being made for a repeat trip. One of the best things about Naka Thai is the décor. It is beautiful. Many Instagram worthy photos were taken and it truly felt like we were in a high class restaurant, making it easy to ignore the fact it is actually right by an industrial estate! Overall it was a perfect meal out and we will eagerly return again not just for the food but for the amazing service they provided.

Dinner, drinks, service and atmosphere were all amazing. All the staff were so attentive and dinner was extraordinary. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. 100% recommend to anyone.

Nice bright spacious setting with friendly staff and attentive service. Extensive menu with appealing options to suit all tastes. The ribs and eggplant entrees were delicious but the sealbass chu chi was beautifully presented and divine to taste. The green chicken curry was generous and flavoursome.
