Afternoon tea!Can't speak about the bedrooms but the atmosphere is warm and staff very welcoming. Shown to the window table which was excellent for people watching!Daniel especially served us very well and was most charming.Would recommend and hope to return.Noteworthy details: There is parking behind the hotel but be very careful when entering from North Hill and keep both wing mirrors turned in!

Fantastic little hotel. Superb location that has the added bonus of parking. The room was lovely, very warm, clean and comfortable. The owner and other gentleman, sorry we never got your name, were so welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend.Walkability: Short walk to city centre, all amenities close by.

Beautiful hotel, made my night after an awful day.I was really late (gone 12am)But received a good welcome even after knocking on the wrong door by a gentleman who showed me my beautiful room.Comfy beds and lots of space, lovely decorated,Breakfast was great lots of choices with a continental feel + crumpets.Would definitely recommend.Excellent ?

Perfect for a stay in Colchester, at the top end of the High Street, with parking. Staff extremely friendly and most helpful, although the kitchen wasn't open the continental breakfast was well laid out. The room was just right and had a nice ensuite, superb shower. Well done worth a visit ?

A pleasant relaxed atmosphere was provided by the very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable with everything you would want provided, even an ice bucket. The hotel is nicely positioned on the edge of the historic city centre and there are a number of restaurants on North Hill within a very short walk of the hotel.

What can I say. We had an amazing time here enjoying a fabulous afternoon tea and the wonderful company of delightful and friendly owner James. Rooms are so beautiful, each one full of its own charming character, spotless and welcoming. Great bar and outside space. Interior design of this historical Colchester building is lovely and well thought out. Food was delicious - tasty and very fresh, one of the nicest we have had (and we have had many). You are made to feel extremely welcome from the minute you walk through the door and we were very reluctant to leave. Nothing was too much trouble. My family have lived in Colchester our entire lives and would very much recommend this gorgeous hotel as the place to stay in Colchester x

Mi marido nos hizo la reserva a mi hija y a mi y quedamos encantadas. El hotel boutique se encuentra en el centro de Colchester, próximo al castle park. El estilo del hotel me pareció muy cálido a la vez que adorable, como de cuento. Llegamos de noche y Roland, el host del hotel nos recibió amablemente ayudándonos con el equipaje. El staff del hotel fue friendly and helpful. El desayuno, perfecto, te ofrecían café, te, huevos, amplia variedad de bolleria, fruta fresca, leche, zumos variados y cereales de todo tipo. Las habitaciones, calidas, limpias, cama confortable . Nuestra cama tenía un dosel con cortinas lo que le hacía más especial. Sparkling water and fresh water , snacks, milk and chocolate.Quiero destacar al equipo del hotel, tanto al propietario del hotel, James, que amablemente , se ofreció a llevarme a la estación rumbo al aeropuerto. Muy educado y atento. Roland, el host del hotel, siempre allí, pendiente de que no faltase de nada y por último, quiero destacar la magnífica dirección por parte del manager del hotel, Daniel , un encanto de persona, alegre, afable, comunicativo, educado. Dani es el ?alma? del hotel. Si compañía nos fue muy grata. Permanecimos allí 1 semana, en septiembre 2023. Definitivamente lo recomiendo al 100%. Mi marido se alojará dentro de unos días en este mismo hotel y sin duda volveré . My husband made the reservation for my daughter and me and we were delighted. The boutique hotel is located in the centre of Colchester, next to the castle park. I found the style of the hotel very warm as well as adorable, like a fairy tale. We arrived at night and Roland, the hotel host, kindly welcomed us helping us with the luggage. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast, perfect, offered you coffee, tea, eggs, a wide variety of pastries, fresh fruit, milk, assorted juices and cereals of all kinds. The rooms, warm, clean, comfortable bed. Our bed had a canove with curtains which made it more special. Sparkling water and fresh water, snacks, milk and chocolate. I want to highlight the hotel team, both the hotel owner, James, who kindly offered to take me to the station to the airport. Very polite and attentive. Roland, the host of the hotel, always there, waiting for nothing to be missing and finally, I want to highlight the magnificent direction by the hotel manager, Daniel, a charming person, cheerful, affable, communicative, polite. Dani is the 'soul' of the hotel. Yes, company was very pleasant to us. We stayed there for 1 week, in September 2023. I definitely recommend it 100%. My husband will be staying in this same hotel in a few days and I will definitely come back

Went for Afternoon tea. It was absolutely lovely. Very well presented and all was obviously freshly prepared and so tasted delicious. Staff were very friendly and offered great service. Good value for money. Definitely will return.

Just arrived at the boutique hotel for a triple celebration and wow love the hotel its positioned in such a great place for exploring Colchester.. the hosts are lovely and very helpful and went out of their way to help us celebrate our special occasions..can't wait for the next two nights stay with them .and breakfast...very friendly welcome

Absolutely gorgeous little hotel. Started with my 6 year old in porter room. Very comfortable beds. Parking. Right in centre of town. Excellent service. Breakfast is good. Lovely voice of cereal, pastry?s, everything you would expect from a continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel amazing, really unique, clean an each room individually created, the staff cannot do enough for you. Special thanks to Rowland front of house absolutely made our stay. Breakfast offered a super choice of bread, croissants, crumpets, fresh fruit an cereals to name a few.
