Great place to stay the night before or after taking the Harwich ferry.
Nice food and atmosphere in the pub and restaurant. Sunday roast.

Went in for afternoon drinks and some food. Lovely cozy atmosphere and great service. Food was ok.

Went for afternoon tea for mother's day. The sandwiches were lovely, especially the salmon with soft cheese and the tuna. Filter coffee was good. Felt like the afternoon tea offering wasn't as good as the last time we had it there, maybe five years ago

Very disappointed. Ordered the vegetarian burger which was completely tasteless and wet. Chips were cold. Did express my feelings to lovely waitress to pass to chef. No discount on the food. Not difficult nowadays to have a good veggie burger, so much choice. Puds were good from comments from others at table though. Wouldn?t go again sadly.

Food was terrible definitely not fresh food. Such a shame when you go out for dinner and the whole experience is so bad. Hopefully we don?t get food poisoning from the rubbery funny tasting prawns.

We went for a Sunday roast which was one of the best I have had in a pub. I highly recommend. The style of the pub so also very cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great for visiting Clacton....and other places! Small parking area, but really nice staff and lovely food.
Rooms: Cosy, but everything you need. Beds a bit soft for my liking....
Safety: Right on a main road.
