The worst experience ever. Ashley and another gentlemen from the staff not being polite and empathetic enough once the ATM eaten all the money and I needed to wait plenty of time to get this sorted.

We are in a climate and ecological emergency. Yet, in spite of saying that they have 'an ambition' to reach net zero by 2050, Barclays financing of fossil fuels has increased since the COP Paris Agreement. They are the largest financier of dirty fuels in Europe. Its not the branch's fault, but better to withdraw your money and put it in a more ethical bank or building society. see switchit.green

Customer Review Barclays Bank Clacton on Sea sent to CEOToday we wasted another 30 minute of our lives than we will never get back. ?Barclays Clacton on Sea, absolutely useless. Total opposite of Metro Bank who we also bank with, at Metro Bank there are never queues onto the pavement and there are always enough staff, so that customers can be dealt with at the counter without horrendous waiting times.I actually dread visiting the Barclays Clacton on Sea branch and would rather drive to Colchester to deal with Metro Bank. Although it is much further away I am sure I could drive to Metro Bank and complete the round trip in less time than it takes to queue at my local Barclays.I even felt after yesterdays? visit to Barclays Clacton on Sea that either my wife or I were lied to.I asked the girl at the door why there are such horrendous queues to get to the counter and if it was now Barclay?s policy to just have one person dealing with customers at the counter. I was told ?no there are two but the other one was busy. Yet when my wife who queued (for what felt like over twenty minutes) finally got to the counter she was told that there can only be one person on the counter. And why is the one person counter only open from 10 -2 ?As a result of standing so long in the queue my wife 83 felt ill, because her spine is weak and it was aggravated by having to stand for so long. It really is a joke, I counted at least 3 girls floating around the floor ? I am sure that any one of them could have jumped on a till and reduced the length of the queue and subsequent waiting times. Even supermarkets call for extra staff to man the tills when busy!So in reality yesterdays visit to Barclays Clacton on Sea wasted an hour of our combined times!BARCLAYS... If you have any doubt about what I am saying just review your in branch video recordings from Clacton on Sea. Then do an audit as to why there have to be such long queues for even a basic visit to the bank. YES I KNOW YOU ARE DEALING WITH COVID... But others manage so much better...It?s not my job to be a Barclay?s secret shopper ? But it would seem you don?t have any as a company, if you do, get them down to Clacton now!And in amongst all of this, there is the attitude of the staff. I am sure some are fine but I must have missed them. RUDE ? ABRUPT ? WHO SEEM TO STRUGGLE WHEN DEALING WITH CROWD CONTROL (which let?s face it is self inflicted). And talk to their aging customers as if they were children or imbeciles.BARCLAYS - UNDERSTAND YOUR DEMOGRAPHIC AND REMEMBER THAT THE CUSTOMER SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST, NOT SO AT BARCLAYS IN CLACTON!'JOINT STRATEGIC NEEDS ASSESSMENT 2019' (TENDRING LOCAL AUTHORITY PROFILE)The Tendring District has the highest percentage of residents aged 65 and over in Essex)Why install so many terminals? That supposedly make life easier for customers, when you need so many of your staff on the floor to show customers how to use them. Much akin to an ASDA self check out... But then you are a bank, not a supermarket.Invest in people who know how to deal with the age group of your core customer base. Otherwise it?s a slippery slope...I await your response...
