The was not a planned visit, we do not live locally, but from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like old friends. Sarah was so kind and spent time talking to us. Locals arrived whilst we were having our drink and we could tell that everyone would be treated like family. If we could of stayed longer we would have. We did not sample any food because they were having refurbishments, but we would definitely go back. Even customers enjoying the sunshine outside made us feel welcome. Overall, we say Sarah is a credit to the team.

This has been my father in laws local pub for over 50 years. In April he passed away, yesterday he would of been 90, (6th August 2025..) We decided to pop in to the Foresters Arms yesterday lunchtime for a drink to raise a glass for him .. We had a cake in hand and asked if we could have it with our drink, the 2 very lovely lady's behind the bar where so wonderful, made us feel so welcome and even put on sausage rolls and crisp... Thank you so much, we know you have only been there a few months, the best of luck with the renovation and the pub, our dad would be so happy to know you have plans for the pub future and keeping it open.. Dad would say get a live band in there ?... All the best

Claudio and Holly have created something genuinely wonderful at The Foresters Arms. From the moment you walk in, you?re made to feel completely at home. Their warmth, energy, and down-to-earth nature set the tone for a place that?s welcoming, relaxed, and full of good vibes.
Every visit shows they genuinely care. Claudio?s attentive service and Holly?s warm hospitality (they even treat you like a friend they?ve known forever!) adds a personal touch that sets this place apart.
The atmosphere is always spot-on?whether it?s a chilled afternoon or a buzzing evening, it feels like the kind of spot where great memories are made. There?s a real sense of community and connection here, and that?s all down to the way it?s run.
It?s the kind of place you look forward to coming back to?friendly faces, great drinks, and the kind of environment that instantly lifts your mood. Hats off to Claudio and Holly for creating such a standout place!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Foresters for their launch night, and it certainly did not disappoint! The atmosphere was fantastic - friendly people of all ages chatting and dancing together - the new owners Claudio & Holly were so warm and welcoming and instantly made me wish I lived closer to this cozy gem of a pub - very much looking forward to returning!

Lovely pub in high Ongar, the owners are very welcoming, always looks after they customers. I would highly recommend the pub!!!

We love the Forresters. Such a lovely and quintessentially English (dog friendly) country pub. Low ceilings, warm fire, cheerful people and a warm welcome at the bar. Under new ownership/management and this is such a good thing. From strength to strength.
We love a Sunday visit and a couple of pints in the beer garden in the sunshine.

None of the beers including Guinness was available - Something wrong with their system which couldn't be corrected while we were there. Most expensive soft drinks outside of London , almost £4:00 for a cordial and soda water.

Stumbled across this great "local". Nice drop of TT Landlord, very friendly staff and regulars. Nice and clean and comfortable. I will call in again when I am next in the area.

I recently visited the forresters arms ,I had a very nice experience. A perfect little country club with a nice atmosphere with a public bar area and ace saloon dining area. Very nice. I would recommend a visit.
