Do NOT shop here. The car park regularly gets log jammed and we spent 1 hour waiting to get out mid afternoon on a Friday. Luckily we had no frozen food or it would have been ruined. This problem hasn't been addressed for many years and it's likely it never will.

Friendly and helpful staff, extensive range of products and facilities, usually some decent special offers (though worth checking per-unit prices as 'family sized ' boxes sometimes worse value than smaller packs). The store is open late Monday to Saturday but there's a balance to be struck on shopping times, hence the docked star. Shop too late and some ranges will be out of stock (hummus and sliced bread baked on the premises are both unavailable after about 6.30pm, for example), while visiting during the rush hour can sometimes mean a long wait to get out of the car park due to the local road layout.

No baguettes at dinner time and the staple of my Tesco trips the Hot Counter is nowhere to be seen imagine my dismay finding out i couldn?t have a rotisserie chicken or a stupendous Cumberland sausage to hold my children off till next week.

Getting in is easy, getting out is a completely different story... what a nightmare! The car park has only 1 exit and is an absolute horror story when trying to go out, it usually takes longer than it takes to travel here, park up and do your shopping combined! People driving around like headless chicked doesn't help as well. Don't bother coming here if you can do your shopping elsewhere, it is definitely not worth it. If you're really desperate for a tesco, go to another town, but not here...

Personally I?ll never go to tesco in Chelmsford princess road ever again took over an hour to get out of the #carpark this afternoon absolute grid lock chaos never known anything like it was a nightmare . Felt sorry for the elderly and young children stuck in their cars waiting for over an hour to move all of 20 meters in today?s heat as well . All Tesco needed to do was get some staff out there to organise the mess and martial the horrific grid lock of cars as nobody wanted to let traffic filter out . I?ve never known anything like it before absolutely ridiculous

Shocked to see the world foods isle is Asian products, no African or Caribbean products in site. Big huge store but doesn't have everything you need, which is funny.

This supermarket is really massive and plenty of room without any hassle. Amazing to see a customer's toilet inside the branch. The cashier section is extremely quick. The only downside is driving to the exit is a nightmare. What a waste of petrol. Should be better organised.

Great range of food, big tesco, good selection of clothes. Tesco car park can be a nightmare and take around an hour to get out at times but usually fine. Only let down is if you are coming with a newborn or a baby in a car seat none of the trolleys have a seatbelt to go over the top of the car seat to hold it in place which is extremely dangerous as the car seat can fall off the trolley. Luckily it is sturdy but I have to hold the seat to make sure baby doesn?t fall. Hopefully they can fix this for their customers with little ones.

Click and collect is one of the worst. Food with short dates and awful quality. We had some food with 1 day on it and when asked if it can be swapped for one with a longer date, I was told there were no other staff to help him, so we'd have to request a refund for it.
When we do shop in store it's always busy. Unless you get there when it opens, which I can't do, it's always packed.
Prices are ridiculous, increased weekly and that's not an exaggeration! Mind you that's Tesco in general, not specific to this store.

The store itself is adequate. The car park however is not fit for purpose. Getting stuck unable to move your car or leave the car park for over an hour is not acceptable. Apparently the police have now instructed that Tesco are not able to close an entrance. It is mayhem?.

Literally the worst car park situation in the whole of UK, here is an idea employ somebody to control the traffic and keep it moving, use both lanes to exit and close car park when at capacity gridlock!

I have just spent 1 hour in the car park. It is a total nightmare. I have told my family to remind me to never ever go there again. It is very bad. Don't go unless you like sitting stuck in a car park for eternity. No Tesco workers in site to try and manage traffic.
