Carpet was installed damaged. We told them the same day. They told us to wait 12 weeks like the carpet would grow back. We waited and told them again. They accepted fault and offered us £40 or replacement which is now no longer practical as the room was furnished in the 12 weeks we had to wait. Questioned why there was such a low refund offer and not getting a response.

I bought a sofa and chair on 29/7/23. I asked how long for delivery since i wanted it fairly soon. I was told 6 weeks. The sales person, Paul, asked me if I wanted sofa protection and warranty. i said no. I asked what would happen if it didn't fit. He said its no problem; they just take it away and dismantle it and then bring it back and set it up. I went ahead and bought on this bases. We are at week 6 so i went online to find out when delivery was due only to find out they don't even have it for another 2 weeks. It told me to refer to T&C, but I never got any. I only got a receipt for my payment stabled to a card. I phoned their HO who sent me a copy of my sales invoice. I found out I had been charged an extra £266 for warranty and fabric care kits I said I didn't want. They agreed to refund. They also asked if I had been told of costs if the items don't fit. I said no and advised what I had been told. It seems they don't 'take it away and sort it and redeliver'. apparently I have to arrange an upholsterer to take it apart and then put it back together again in my house. She stated it is cheaper to remove a window. I am worried sick now that I have paid £2400 for a settee and chair I cant get in my house. This should all have been explained to me when I purchased. Very disappointed in this store. They should have advised me to take measurements and checked first. They should also have given me a copy of the sales order at the time of payment so I could have seen I had been charged for items I didn't want.The HO are now saying it is too late to cancel.

When I walked throgh the door I first asked one of the reps about a sofa I had seen online. They had the same one on display. I was taken over by Teri and from start to finsh she explained eveything, from the material and colour to the cushion filling. While we was making the order she explained about their insurance for accidental damage which I also took. I was offered tea and everyone made me feel welcome. Teri was very knowledgeable and an asset to the company.

Chelmsford SCS went above and beyond in helping us source and fit our carpets. Craig and the team assisted with everything from choosing the perfect carpet to arranging a smooth installation. I would 100% recommend SCS and especially SCS Chelmsford. Thank you once again!

Saw settee on sale for £495.00 but by changing to same material but sightly different colour increased to £629.00. Read the small print on sales advert, this looks like a sales trick is to get people in the door, not very nice as my daughter only had the lower figure!

really helpful and friendly staff - much better service than my local Colchester branch - they only dropped a star because you can?t phone the branch direct and have to through a national switchboard who take 30 mins to awnser

Placed order at the Chelmsford store for carpet and 2 sofas. Found that they didn?t apply the discount on the purchase and contacted the store twice and head office 3 times only to be told on each occasion a refund would be made.Sofa was delayed due to ?COVID? and arrived some months later. Was told that they would apply a credit due to the inconvenience of £100 and the monies owed due to discount not being applied. We are now 3 months on and am still waiting.AVOID, Avoid, and Avoid. Clearly they have no morals and take you for all that they can.

I'm so not happy as I ordered my 2 2 seater sofas was told be delivered in the middle off April and now its not coming to end off may and thats mot a definite u pay for delivery and extra on your sofa thinking your garenteed to get your sofa on time all we get is excuses

Bought 2 settees less than 2 years ago already all the main cushions have frayed and the stitching broken and loose they look terrible very poor workmanship and quality when we tried to claim on the extra insurance we were sold at time of purchase we were told it was normal wear and tear terribly manufactured products .And the extra insurance cover offered is a waste of money don?t bother it was with CASTELAN don?t be conned in to taking it they only interested in how to get out of paying out

Rude staff. Previously spent over £3000 and when I asked to buy a new cleaning care kit which they have on displayed all over the store I was told quite dismissively I can?t buy one unless I buy another sofa.. . strange after sales service

Appalling customer service. In store sales team were helpful but made promises that could not be kept. Ordered a carpet, fitting was delayed by over a week and then cancelled at short notice. No attempt to prioritise a re-fitting, instead having to wait a further 2 weeks. when trying to talk to someone on phone, was put on hold for over 30 mins and no desire to help resolve issue. Would never use again

I ordered furniture in September and was given a lead date of 27 November for delivery. I was then told it would be the following week because of a shortage of the chemicals needed to make the foam. This fact is actually true but the Store Manager decided to embellish this excuse by saying that the chemicals used are needed in COVID testing and that's why they are in short supply. This is blatantly untrue as the two chemicals, Propylene oxide and Toluene diisocyanate are both carcinogenic and highly toxic. The next delivery date given was 21 December and then updated to the first week in January and this time I was told the furniture was in the depot and I was actually given a delivery date of 7 January. I was then asked to pay the balance. I did that and 3 hours later received a text to say that delivery date had been cancelled and they couldn't yet give me another one as the furniture hadn't yet arrived. In the meantime I had been reading many, many horror stories from customers who had actually received their furniture and it was grossly inferior to that seen in the showrooms. Some of the photos displayed were horrific. I decided at that point to cancel the order and did so on 5 January. This fact doesn't seem to have got through to all departments. Despite the fact that I already have a full refund. I received a further text two days later to say my furniture will be delivered on 15 January. I decided to ignore this text. I'm still being hassled to "pay the balance".I notice I received the "standard response" from the owner. From other reviews I've seen emailing them is a complete waste of time but they do love to make potential customers think they actually care - they don't!

The delivery was late to start with and we were not always kept upto date on what was going onAfter a few days the cushions started to go flat and hard. Called SCS, they sent out someone to look at the problem, he said we should have picked the foam option and not the fiber, I wasnt offered a choice.
