I recently booked here for afternoon tea for a colleague to celebrate her getting married soon. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and let me come in to decorate prior to guests arriving. Staff took dietary requirements seriously and bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed. Beautiful location, really friendly staff and lovely afternoon. Thank you.

Lovely wedding venue with a huge impressive marquee room and dance floor area. Suitable for medium to large weddings.Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is very nice. Lovely grounds and lots of places to take photos.I often DJ at Pontlands and take photos, be glad to hear if I can help.

Visited for a birthday lunch in the function room. Staff were attentive and the food was OK. The entrance area to the room has its own bar and direct access to loos which means it is self-contained. Good location being only five minutes from the A12. Recommended.

New Year?s Eve evening meal and Music, all good and rooms very clean and comfortable.Errors with our bills and one of our friends the next day tainted the whole experience, our friends were refunded after a lengthy conversation, we didn?t realise until we read our bank statement, £18.Food & drinks: Food and drinks were good however the next morning when checking out we had a bill for 4 drinks added to our bill that we didn?t purchase, £18. Our friends also had a bill for £35 pound for brandy?s which we didn?t have an enjoyable new years meal and venue spoilt by mistakes with the bills tainted the evening.

We have been having our Christmas party there for years. Always has been really good.......this year however, they decided to close the party early, not only that ,last orders was rung 40 minutes before the earlier time. My team work hard all year, they deserve a good celebration. The vast majority left feeling disappointed. When I spoke to the manager( not complaining but suggesting) that I thought was not a good idea. I was told that they can't change things just for me. Actually I normally take 40 to 50 people each year. It wasn't just my bunch, many people were moaning. I can only imagine that the person who suggested the change ,doesn't have much Christmas spirit, and too much money., as they lost a lot of income. If this is the case, maybe stay open, and give the profits to a local Charity. .............Just responding to your reply. i felt a need to write the review because of the way my comment (not complaint) was dealt with at the time, maybe you should be disappointed with your manager, rather than being disappointed with me. i had two of my managers with me during the conversation and they were more unhappy than I. All that was needed was 'leave it with me' or 'we will take you your comments on board'.

I had a fabulous time at Pontlands with friends for a Christmas get together. From the arrival to end service was exceptional. Alex the barmen was fantastic, so friendly, accommodating and helpful, even after endless shots of baby guiness! Thank you Alex you are a credit to your team! I had the pleasure of attending the venue for a work Christmas party on the 2nd of December and I was pleased by the all-round experience.A beautiful building, with fantastic decoration and atmosphere. Food was delicious and the service exemplary; particularly from a young lady whose name I believe is Diana/Diane. Bar staff were also extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends for a similar experience. Thanks again to all the staff! (From the guy who decided to dress as an elf)
