5 star service from Anne at Upminster. Anne went over and above re an Atm depost concern. Anne liased with Chelmsford to check progress and called me back to put my mind at rest. I was not near the original branch that I had used for the transaction.
(A need to confirm the possible issue was
my misunderstanding, not any branch.)
Also a big thank you to John (I believe) in Chelmsford who kindly offered to look into the possible problem initially. Anne giving me the update.
Great service from Nationwide staff. 2 diffferent branches helping me in 1 day.

Great Service from Nationwide and Joe at the counter in Chelmsford. It was a busy Saturday morning but a complicated issue was dealt with professionally, knowledgeably and calmly. All the right questions were asked and made me feel that my account was being looked after.
It is a pity that other banks don't offer this level of customer service and number of branches. Its my misfortune to have dealings with the Bank opposite this one on behalf of a local institution. A dreadful experience over many years.

I have been really pleased with the advice and assistance that I have had from Nationwide Chelmsford - particularly from Callum and Joe who have both gone above and beyond.
They have dealt my questions with patience and sensitivity.

Went into the branch to pay a cheque in, but my card had expired. Gentleman on the front desk was extremely helpful and efficient, pleasant enough, directed me to the clerks behind the counter. Queued up by the counter, waited for 10 mins until a young girl with birth marks on her face behind the counter opened up her position, as her colleagues were busy. She was pretty rude, stone faced, no pleasantries, didn't say hello, thank you, or any kind of goodbye. Customer service seems to be dying in general, but mixed experience here. Can definitely see why it's so poorly rated on Google.

Just wanted to share what a lovely experience I had visiting Chelmsford Branch, as we are all too quick these days to complain, so it seems fair to praise when it is indeed due.The staff were so helpful and friendly, even though some members of the public in the queue clearly were not having a good day! They had time for everyone whatever their questions or demands! Fab visit! vvvisit!vvivisichange.compared to some financial establishment

As I was being treated without grace or empathy by a member of the counter staff at the Chelmsford branch yesterday I decided to check out its Google reviews. I am sorry to say that (involuntarily) I laughed out loud when I saw how low its star rating was.More than once I have been left feeling that there was room for improvement by those who take your money behind the desk, but the paying-in machine is very good indeed and the staff who operate the other side of the glass have always been helpful/ courteous.That said, I am seriously checking out another bank across the road today with a view to moving my business. I would rather do 300 hours community service than again encounter the poor attitude I was treated to that has inspired me to write this review. I see you guys chatting without limits to the elderly customers and going out of your way to accommodate young savers. Why are you so impatient with me?

Completely agree with Barry&Scott useless, Surely a year on you could open on a Saturday at the expense of one of the week days!!?Whilst I appreciate you trying to protect the Key Workers and your staff how are the key workers like myself supposed to bank!?And before you respond with you can still use the ATM for your banking, I Cant with a book account.
