Hopefully this is a balanced review. I?ve been using the Chelmsford Copperfield Road Morrisons regularly and often for 5 years. Starting with the good. It is the only supermarket in the area to offer the services of a butcher/fishmonger with the associated fresh/cold counters, it is unrivalled. There are often offers available on meat and fish and is generally better vfm than other major supermarkets nearby. However, supply varies (and not due to seasonal variations either) so it can be unreliable at times. Butchery staff are helpful with requests too.
Which brings us onto the not so good. Over the 5 years the one thing this store has been consistent with is inconsistency. Stock (any and sometimes all) of fresh fruit and veg regularly runs out or has not been delivered.
Perfect example of this would be today. No fresh coriander. Okay maybe a bit niche, but on another day it might be loose peppers, you choose. I can never be certain they?ll have an item when I enter. 4 weeks ago it was sardines. Then a box of turnips appeared in one of the summer months his year. Didn?t see one all winter this year.
All the staff I?ve interacted with have been helpful and cheery.
So there you have it annoying at times but good meat and fish which is just about enough reason to continue visiting.
But watch it Morrison?s you?re on a warning.

lovely place to shop...all the staff are friendly helpful and go out of their way to help customers ...the young man (always stacks the salad etc) is extremely polite and nice to the elderly customers ...Chris (a manager) is nice and always has time to listen...there isn't one member of this store that I could complain about always ready with a smile and an hello ...the lady in the bakery is always smiling and laughing ...this particular store seemed to have employed exceptional people who always treat the customers with kindness and respect!

normally really good service, today me and my partner came in, we are 32 and 33. We have brought alcohol from the store many times and I haven't been id'd for years. a very cold rude weird older blonde woman approached us and said we needed ID for herbal energy drinks.. there is absolutely no way we could be 15, or even 25 honestly. it was purely out of spite and very malicious. Its actually annoyed me so much I won't be returning now.

It's a good size. Parking is adequate. Main tills always a queue. Self service tills function but tend to get a fault as you use them. Staff are good. Can be hit and miss with products eg haddock bread sweet potatoe are not always in stock.

Not one checkout open this evening AGAIN! Staff just stand around directing people into the small inadequate self service area. Happens every week lazy work ethic ,can't bothered staff. Management need to ensure there is always one checkout open I don't want a job scanning my own shopping

Serving locals with reasonable prices, normally always a free parking space as well as EV charging (if expensive).
Always a good idea to check online for what food discounts are available vs Tesco / Sainsbury's etc to get the most from your shopping.

Always chaos. I have been coming here for 12 years as we live close by and nothing has changed in that period. Poorly managed by young inexperienced managers who haven't a clue on how to manage staff. The staff are always moaning about unorganised tea breaks, only 1 or possibly 2 tills ( if you're lucky ) running in peak times , the security guard is always falling asleep at his little station. It's the worst morrisons I've ever visited , it's such a shame , we only visit here for Essentials and not a main shop as its not a nice experience what so ever.
The supermarket needs an experienced , mature manager to get this supermarket up there with local competitors.

Absolutely appalled with the self-serve service, whilst helping us she was continually jumping to help others, it took ages to get a price correction so we just left it.
