I went to HSBC Tindal Square branch last Tuesday to pay in cash at counter only to find it closed for maintenance (used to use Maldon but that branch closed), but hey, notice on door says you can go to Post Office in HWSmith where are HSBS staff waiting to help. Traipsed over to HWSmith and found only one poor scared looking female HSBC staff member who couldn?t provide any normal counter service. But hey, she said I could go over to branch at Braintree! Banks as they are open! Or wait until 25 April for Chelmsford branch to reopen. This bank?s idea of providing its customer?s with service is joke.

It?s very shambolic that HSBC is closed in Chelmsford high street. Overall I have seen significant decline in the HSBC bank customer services when ever visit the branches. I felt that they discourage the customers to visit branch in person.

From customer service to lack of security - I am surprised that this can even be considered a bank. I opened a business account here about a year ago and I have been stolen from twice. They bank allowed amounts upward of 5k to be stolen from my account without any extra verification. Both incidences occurred outside of working hours so I had to call customer service, which is of course, off shore call centers that can?t help me. When I went into the bank the following day, both times, they didn?t have the capacity to solve anything face to face. They called the same off shore centers and the process was disorganized at BEST and arduous from start to finish. The lines were always breaking up and the language barriers prohibited communication. The staff was rude and patronizing. Shame on you HSBC. You have a duty to your customers to protect their money and to support them when that duty isn?t upheld. You might never read this, but if you do, I hope you make changes. What you?re doing is unethical.

Had a terrible experience with a representative at this location called Georgy. I was quite taken aback, he was incredibility rude and I felt borderline aggressive with me. I'm honestly a bit lost for words.

Was going to enquire about opening an account after I changed a ten pound note up. Left stunned by the female member of staff who asked if I was a customer of theirs and when I replied no, she asked me who I was with and gave me directions to go and get the £10 changed up. Don't think I'll bother banking with them now!
