Avoid booking your car in to this halfords. I have booked in twice in the space of one year to be turned away on the day. The man at reception is clearly lazy and completely unbothered when it comes to dealing with any vehicle. I booked in today for a vehicle diagnostic check (baring in mind i paid £47 already) he turned me away stating the diagnostic check would not work as the ?engine light was not on? however this had flashed up previously the day before.
Fortunately i went to another garage that had stated the scanner ?can read codes even if the CEL is not illuminated? once again i was let down by this halfords and there is a lack of knowledge and work ethic.

Had been using this garage for years with no problems. Very recently have received massively over priced quotes. Two tyres quoted at nearly 400 pounds.
Got 2 better tyres fitted from black circles for 170 pounds. Also needed a wheel allinment. Quoted almost 400 pounds for a stuck track rod end. Part is 70 pounds. So £330 to unstick a bolt. Hmm...no thank you. Just had the alignment done elsewhere and low and behold there was no stuck bolt. Scam artists

Visited and contacted multiple times for tyres only to be forgotten about and not responded to. Staff seem unbothered and careless. Avoid.

This is the 4th issue I have had at this garage but have given them the benefit of doubt each time before.
Had my service booked in but they cancelled due to staff shortages, I didn't have a problem with this as it happens so they rescheduled but could only do it 2 weeks later. Turned up for the appointment and they cancelled it once again. One of my previous appointments was to get a tyre changed they couldn't undo the nuts so sent me away saying it's my problem to sort. Went straight to another garage and had my new tyre on within 10 minutes.

Do not use this place, my daughter was verbally insulted and laughed at today by the MOT tester Dave ..she's a young girl with no idea about cars .. avoid at all costs

I rung them up to get a puncture repair on a tyre performed, the young lady answering the phone was very polite, safety aware and helpful and they fitted me in quickly.On the day of the puncture repair i turned up 30mins early and they fitted me in straight away rather then making me wait the 30mins which i was totally prepared to do, the poor fitter had only just finished his lunch and it was a rainy wet day and grim outside but he rushed straight to it. I will definitely be using this branch of Halfords Autocare again for future work, excellent customer service.Photo of tyre prior to replacement.

Visited as my battery failed under warranty. Very helpful man on reception ordered new battery and fitted same day. Excellent service and highly recommend ???

Absolutely excellent. Always good to have your expectations exceeded. Super friendly service, maybe I got lucky but without an appointment my new battery was supplied and fitted in well under 30 mins.

Stay well clear, complete scammers. Waste of time and money. Failed MOT first time on tyres, took back and they failed on brakes with repairs of £300. Thought something wasn?t right so took to another garage and my MOT passed first time with not even an advisory on my brakes. 2nd fail report at Halfords also said tyre tread were below brand new, even though I had just paid for brand new tyres.

Failed a car for minor things,overpriced and the employees are rude and trying to get more money out of their customers by trying to find small issues. Avoid at all costs if possible

Poor customer service and incredibly let down by them. Booked in for the works and paid in advance to be left with works not completed and no solution. Had to contact customer service to get a refund.Not to mention they charge well over the odds for parts and labour - I saved myself £150 going elsewhere!Service: Brakes
