I am deeply disappointed with the service I received from EE, Chelmsford store. The experience has been nothing short of a nightmare due to a critical mistake one of your store representatives made.
Here?s what happened: I traded in my device, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but the store representative incorrectly updated the trade-in details to an iPhone 13 Pro Max. This error caused a cascade of issues that disrupted my finances, wasted my time, and left me questioning why I ever trusted EE with my business.
First, the incorrect trade-in details delayed the process of receiving the trade-in kit. This forced me to visit the store multiple times to rectify their mistake?an inconvenience that could have been avoided.
Second, even though I paid for the trade-in at the store, I later received an additional bill of £540, stating that EE hadn?t received my device. This was despite receiving a confirmation message from EE that my device had been successfully received! The lack of coordination between your teams is appalling and reflects poorly on your internal systems.
Third, as if this wasn?t enough, my account was locked due to this billing issue. This forced me to pay £400 manually just to reactivate my account and regain access to my plan?a financial burden caused entirely by EE?s mistake. Despite raising this issue with your customer service team and explaining the impact on my finances, I was told that the credit of £440 would only be applied to next month?s bill instead of this month?s bill when I needed it most.
To make matters worse, I was promised a call from your Trade-In team to resolve this issue, but no one ever contacted me. Instead, I received a message stating that my complaint had been closed without any resolution or update. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable for a company of EE?s size and reputation.
The extent of trouble I had to endure due to one employee?s mistake is beyond frustrating. From multiple store visits to financial strain and disrupted services, this experience has been a complete disaster. I feel like I made a serious mistake in trusting EE and choosing your services over other providers.

The most unhelpful, patronising, disrespectful staff I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Made worse only by the fact that the 'advice' they offered up was wrong. Dreadful.

Miss guide with the plans with overcommit and for everything referred to customer care.
They committed to us (on 11th Feb 2025) that we can get broadband and two EE numbers at the better rate. When we showed our existing broadband plan to manger he said he will get this in two weeks and based on his commitment, we got two EE numbers with contract cost of 44 pounds monthly (only 25 GB data) and was told when we move to EE broadband in a month it will be adjusted.
We came to the EE Chelmsford on 20th Feb 2025 when we got the letter of payment will be taken on 20th Feb. We came with the thought to know what is the status of broadband and getting a better deal. There was rush at the shop and the manger asked us to come another time and he will make the adjustment for us.
However after further follow up with another EE center (Basildon) it was told that EE can?t provide that service in near time.
We came back to the Chelmsford branch again (on 22nd Feb 2025) and we were told they can?t adjust the the payment we have made and left us with customer care to deal it ourself to cancel the number or move to PayE or change to any lower plan.
They showed us a lucrative deal of saving money both on phone and broadband but can?t give us any. Rather we ended up paying 44 pounds extra in the month of February 2025.

1 hour round trip to collect phone, they had shut up shop and left early. With hindsight maybe I should have called in case a retail high street manager decided to knock off early!

Spoke to a member of staff about an issue today. She came across very unfriendly and rude. Such a shame for staff at a national and respected organisation to behave like this, and not accept any personal views of customers.

Went in to order a new phone, staff were really helpful and friendly. It was very busy and there was some queuing but to be expected on an iPhone release day, staff handled it really well better than my previous provider would have. Thank you to the staff ?
