I see the reply to the below, I will update to 4 stars, but the point still stands - couldn't see a sign. I popped in whilst baby was outside with my wife and asked if you had baby changing, you said yes in the toilets, no quick mention there of where the entrance is which is not in eye sight from the front. I looked around both corners, saw nothing, and as it was raining, went somewhere else.
Original: Whilst it looks lovely since it's been refurbished, despite there being a baby change facility in the lady's toilets, there's no directions to the ramp that is around the corner - discovered after we gave up trying to get the pram up the stairs. Maybe add a sign next time?

Okay we had two pizza's margaretta and BBQ chicken with mushrooms, garlic cheese bread, salad and onion rings all was fresh and cooked well. To drink rhubarb gin, wow very refreshing on a hot day and the house Spanish white which worked well with the food. Alas no bottled Abbott premium Green king beer. The barn in Chelmsford does have this if good beer is your thing.
There were few guests, end of service and pub was quiet. To our liking.
Now the other bits. Maddi out waitress / bar server was whitty and attentive to our needs, pleasant and not over keen also did not appear bored or could not be bothered as pub was quiet. Sometimes quietness brings out the worst of service as does being over stretched. So thank you
We were introduced to Joey the chief who was polite and humble. Although on breaks they included us in conversation about the publican trade.
They also appeared to enjoy working at the Eagle and Hind, highlighting the entertainment, the fantastic Sunday lunch (which we heard about form other sources) and Christmas. It is good to see a real talent and appreciation of good customer service.
We are a couple in our late 50's with stressful jobs, quiet, good service and food what isn't to like on a Thursday lunchtime. Your tips were well deserved we feel!

Full marks had my dads wake on Tuesday could not fault the fabulous spread of food they prepared catered for everyone's requirements, the ladies that were working that day were there if we needed anything, also served the best Sunday lunch, thank you .

Great pub. Amazing atmosphere and kind energetic staff. Tonight had a live band that was amazing to listen to, the band being called The:Coof. Had so much fun tonight.

Absolutely bollocks paid £4.80 for a pint of coke that didn?t look like a pint when I can go to corner shop and get the same for cheaper. And you have to buy a drink to use the pool table when any other pub you can use it any time

Eagle and Hind is the place to be! They always have the best vibes and cater for all. Charlie and Tom host the best parties and the pub always has the best atmosphere!

Great food..
Re visit and what a disappointment. The web site stated kitchen was open till 7 but when we got there at 4 it had closed and was not open again till 5. Excuse was they dont have ability to update web page.
Obviously first to order, but others were getting meals before us, we had to wait for 50 minutes and that was only after we complained. Two meals were good but 2, jacket potatoes were obviously done in rush. Potatoes, although nicely cooked, were cut but not opened and filling was minimal and just dumped on top.

Fantastic food, good presentation and great taste. Steak cooked perfectly to request on most recent visit. Friendly, fun atmosphere and kid friendly. Will definitely be back!!
