I used to love Bassment when I was a teenager but I came back after 6 years and the experience was terrible. The staff were unhelpful when I suffered an injury, having gone in basically sober as we were having an impromptu night which pretty much started at Bassment, I went into the smoking area with our first drinks and the ground was not flat, tripped over a part of a bench that was sticking out, thankfully not impaling myself on a rusty nail, I ended up smacking my jaw on the ground alongside these other injuries (I am very thankful and lucky my jaw hasn?t caused me more issues than a scar), to which the aftercare from staff didn?t exist and I had a stranger help clean me up, resulting in infection in my hand due to glass being in it. The only thing staff offered was ?one free drink?, to replace the full one I lost as I fell. There were only young people working there, younger than me, and while I don?t blame them, I wonder why there wasn?t a manager on shift to speak with at the time. The date was 31/12/22.An email sent to the establishment only resulted in being offered a vodka booth as its sister club, while they took responsibility for the bench being there. They claimed they watched CCTV where a punter moved it, but it was perfectly in line with other benches and shouldn?t have been available for punters to move anyway, if that were the case. The night it happened I heard commotion of ?who left that there?!?, and I wondered if it was the case that a punter could have moved it why there wasn?t any action from the security guard, or a label or tape on the broken bench. When going through to seek compensation for my mental and physical distress, I was told that they couldn?t claim anything from Bassment as they haven?t got any funds or insurance.I do not like leaving bad reviews but I do wonder how this establishment is still open.It was a very negative experience, I am now suffering knee pain which I?ve been reminded could be a lasting effect of this fall and I just wanted to warn other punters of the lack of care, support and safety this establishment has for its guests.

Oh dear. What has happened in this place. No draft beer on a Friday night the last 2 times I?ve been. Just Stella cans and bud bottles. And at 1am-3am nobody else there but our group. Used to be the place to dance until 3, now it?s the same the place avoid.

The behaviour of one particular bouncer was absolutely appalling. It appears the other bouncers were aware of his behaviour and did nothing to prevent him from acting out towards customers. Really disappointed and will not be coming back if that bouncer is still working there.

I visited to watch Guthrie Govan play in his band .. Fantastic venue. I travelled down from Newcastle upon Tyne and I?d travel again.

Great night, live music from the bands set a wonderful atmosphere. DJ played a range of music, prices seemed pretty cheap for Chelmsford

Went here on a friday evening. Staff were friendly. Toilets could do with a refurb. Not a bad place to go.

The place to go to Chelmsford for alternative music. Eclectic DJs (including myself) and bands. Always good fun and a great vibe. Great decor. Highly recommended.
