i have to say my wife works in this shop and i can honestly say she is doing such a brilliant job my friends and family go in there and love it they find absolute bargains galore and raise much needed funds for a great cause keep up the good work danni deb lilly and the rest of the team you are all doing an amazing job especially debbie with the red hair lol

Yesterday, I donated a coat without remembering that I had put my new boxed iphone into it without thinking. It wasn?t until I got home (the shop had closed) that I realised what I had done!! I put a post on Facebook asking what the opening times for the shop were as it is Christmas Eve today. The Manager, Danielle, had messaged me asking how she could help and I explained the situation. She kindly went into the shop early this morning and messaged me to say she had found my phone from the description i gave of the bag I donated and coat inside. Honestly, she is an angel and it is so lovely to know there are good people in the world. Thank you so much, Danielle xx

I donated some of my old clothes here yesterday as i hate to see them go to waste. I live locally so popped in to see if they would accept them.
I had 2 big black bags full so it was nice to know they would go to a good home.
The lady i dealt with was very polite, friendly and professional. She did say if i had anything else that i could pop in anytime to hand them in. Nothing was too much trouble for her and it made my experience of handing in clothes to a charity shop very pleasant as i would normally end up throwing them in the bin.
Whilst reading the reviews on here and seeing they are not very good, i can say that my experience was very pleasant and certainly will be coming back if i ever have any more unwanted clothes.
Thank you team- keep up the good work in which you work tirelessly to help others out in their time of need.

There is no point in trying to donate quality good items to this particular site, as the staff are rude and do not want to accept items. They watched me come into the store to drop off a bag and go back to my car a further two times to carry in bags of children's books and a bag of new unused toys. Whilst eating their lunch they then decided to let me know I could not leave the bags as they were not accepting donations today and could come back in the morning instead! Why it makes a difference to them donating on a Sunday afternoon vs Monday morning I do not understand but they were extremely unpleasant. I will be donating elsewhere in the future.

I have just returned form donating at chelmer village and once again the staff were brisk and unfriendly. I passed an innocuous comment about the weather and got ignored by both staff stood in front of me.
That's just rude.

Just been to this shop to drop off a heavy box of donations, only to see and be told they?re ?closed to donations? This is the third time I?ve been and been turned away! I won?t ever be returning again, especially as I?ve driven all the way from Brentwood on a busy Saturday afternoon! Fuming!

Spoke to manager offering to buy broken jewellery for crafting. She said she had a huge laundry basket of donated jewellery but had to take it home to sort through it to remove valuable items. That, I understand, but the costume jewellery never gets back to the shop. I know Barnados Ebay it in bulk at a highly inflated price but put some in your shops! Not everyone has an Ebay account

Don?t try to donate at Barnados Chelmer Village unless you want a very unpleasant experience!Staff chased my elderly mother out of the shop after she dropped off one small bag of good quality items to the donation area. They chased her to say they weren?t accepting donations & that she was on CCTV!! We can?t understand the need to threaten a pensioner over a carrier bag sized donation, but their web page says they?re accepting donations, their phone number is not in use, and their staff are rude & threatening!Take it to farleighs instead, they ask you to book & are grateful for your support. Won?t donate to barnados again.
