Stayed at the Pheasant Hotel and was surprised at how large the room was. The breakfast was lovely and the waitress was brilliant. Highly recommended.

We picked this place as a stopover and so glad we did very welcoming on arrival and nothing was too much trouble the room we stayed in was so quiet and large well worth the money and backed onto open fields.we found it was the owners 2nd day and what a great job they're doing even with the new technology ? and the food is a different level both evening and breakfast well done we will return ?

A group of 4 couples met here for a dinner, bed & breakfast stay. On arrival found out that it had just been taken over by new owners! So it seemed a bit chaotic and we did have some concerns. However, Sue who had been working there under previous owners arrived and all was good. New owners need to hold on to her!
Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Nice setting in farmland and small village. Food very good. Busy bar in evening, so good atmosphere. Would recommend.

Fabulous place to stay. Room was large and comfortable, food was delicious, but the service and friendliness from the hosts was the best bit. I will definitely be returning.

This pub is a little gem, serving good food, at a realistic price and with very friendly staff. My only criticism would be the price of a bottle of wine. Eating out on a regular basis at various pub/restaurants in the area, I feel that their wine prices are above average. Having said this, I will definitely be going here again.

Staff were friendly and welcoming but not sure what was on the menu. Ordered Steak & Ale Pie but given Chicken & Mushroom. Not much choice of beer on tap. Quiet as went on a Monday

Overnight stay and had been wanting to try the Pheasant for a while and I left disappointed. The rooms aren?t cheap given the local options but it promised a decent breakfast.
Room: overall nice, big bed and view of constable country. Decent shower, soft towels. Negative would be the complimentary water in the fridge which on opening smelt bad and unclean.
Breakfast: ordered. Full English and it felt a bit measly. Good coffee though. Cheap bread for the toast and 1 slice only. A sausage tough as leather - massively disappointing. I recommend drive down the road to Sudbury and visit Huffers for a proper old English fry up.
Small details mean a lot. A newspaper at breakfast, in the depth of winter put the fire on, make it cosy.
For the money I would say 3/5 max.

We recently stayed here for our weekend. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. The room stayed it had a spa bath and only contained a bath and a shower. We had a Luke warm shower the first night and second day sadly was the same. I noticed a smell when we checked in and found the culprit to be a dirty fridge with spilt milk in the bottom of it which looked like it hadn?t been cleaned for weeks. The sofa cushions were just turned over to hide a stain and to top it off the housekeeping walked into our room without knocking and got a full eye full ?. The breakfast was good although I would have liked more toast but I?m not sure where the service was so I won?t be staying there again sadly. The bed was comfy and the view spectacular just sadly felt like the service and cleanliness really needs attention to detail.

Wonderful meal, great value and lovely service. Diane and staff all happy and very welcoming. Stayed overnight in campervan in the field opposite. Beautiful spot, nice and quiet.
