Our women's group of 24, lunched here yesterday. Victoria, the chef and staff were fantastic. Everyone had their chosen courses, the food was delicious and we had a great time. We'll be returning there again.

I made a criminal mistake, clearly, when I placed my phone and portion of chips down on a table outside this establishment (which is on a public riverside) to tie my shoe lace. You'd have thought I'd strangled a puppy the way the woman came out having a go telling me I couldn't sit there with food from another establishment!! I was simply re tying my lace and using the table so I had hands to do so. Madness. Rude and definitely won't be popping in for a drink or food if that's the attitude of the people working there.

We had a great time at the White Harte Hotel, our room looked out over the river and promenade. The staff are excellent and the included breakfast was perfect. Our room was spotless with fresh fluffy towels, Victoria was great and answered my emailed questions very quickly. Thank you for a great stay.

I used to stay at this hotel for many years, but this was a return visit after 9 years. Still in the same family, so much character which is largely unchanged, but brought up to date with new windows, decoratively and new improved menus catering for all tastes and pockets. Rooms with the stunning river view are lovely, very clean and comfortable room. Just be aware the rooms at the top have a short but steep staircase up to them - not a problem for me and I'm nearly 70. Very reasonably priced, especially considering its position, and I was not charged any sort of single supplement for a double room. Meals are also good value and were very tasty and beautifully presented. Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent. All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful, busy and efficient but willing to chat. There is limited parking, but also available on the street outside. So glad I made this (nostalgic) return visit.

Stayed on top floor, only down side the last stairs are steep, but once you enter your room and see the view, you can only say WOW, room wasn?t the biggest but for an old building they have done a great job, very clean and it had character, definitely staying there again and already told family and friends, staff are nice and polite and breakfast was cooked well,

Very disappointed with my visit at the Ye Olde White Harte pub, for a dog friendly place we were told by the owners that dogs are not allowed in the only place of the pub where you had free tables available. Apparently only pubs dog is allowed everywhere! We only went in as it started raining and were forced to sit outside in a rain. Really poor service

We stayed in Ye Olde White Hart for one night as we were back down in Essex for a wedding. This is a family run hotel that has been in the same family for over 60 years. Our room was on the top floor as we had requested and was tucked away at the end of the corridor. We loved the low door that you have to bend down to get through. The second flight of stairs to the room are steep, but not an issue for us. The room was clean and had a lovely, cosy, cottagey feel and the views over the river Crouch are beautiful. The bed was very comfortable although personally I found the pillows hard. I did like having a single quilt each on the bed (I think because this is normally a twin room). The shower was good, hot water pressure in the sink was a bit low but wasn't a problem. Towels were lovely and soft and big. A full lengh mirror would be an asset but not an essential Breakfast in the morning was absolutely smashing. Hot and beautifully cooked. Every memebr of staff we saw were friendly, chatty and helpful. Parking is a bit of a problem (especially if people already in the car park park without thought for others) but I know parking in Burnham is at a premium generally and there is free parking on the High Street which is where we parked. We had lunch in the restaurant with family and what we had was lovely. A lot of hard work has gone into and continues to go into upgrading the rooms. We wouldn't hesitate at coming back and staying again. Thank you everyone at the White Hart for a really enjoyable stay. xx

Visited today after being recommended by the owners of the lovely dog we are looking after. Service was polite and excellent. The food was very nice and came up hot and quickly. Would highly recommend. The previous persons review was not fair and they should have just made a comment at the time as places like this need all the praise and visitors to ensure they keep good business ? ?

Not being local to Burnham anymore, I haven't been here for years. I have to say though, whenever I come back again, this will be the place to visit for drinks, food & social times with friends. The staff are extremely attentive, friendly and happy, which is a joy to see. Great selection of drinks & food with a separate vegan menu. Highly recommended ???

We popped in for lunch. Food was nice but the service wasn't great. The first table condiment bucket was really dirty, with dried on sauce and food stuck to it. Then when we got another the pepper pot was clogged where half of it had been dunked in food. When we mentioned it to staff it was taken away, was hoping for it to be replaced. They did apologise but I don't think we will visit again.

I've been staying at the Royal burnham yacht club for the last 9 months on my own, I had another colleague come down so we went for a couple of drinks and it was great, lovely staff.
