Hospitality at its worst. Went because of convenience but will not return again due to the rude waitress who made us wait multiple times and was extremely rude. Average food, the one guy waiter was the saving grace who gets the star.

Absolutely amazing experience at Pizza Express in Braintree! ? The pizza was delicious ? perfectly cooked, with a crispy base and fresh, flavorful toppings. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients!
The staff were fantastic ? super friendly, attentive, and always smiling, even though you can see how hard they work. The waiters were constantly on the go, making sure every table was well taken care of, and the kitchen team was working non-stop to serve up amazing food. A special shoutout to the manager, who is clearly very dedicated and works incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly.
It?s so nice to see a team that truly cares about their customers and the food they serve. Highly recommend this place ? we will definitely be coming back! ???

It started off good but it was all down hill from there. They didn't bother to come over to see if we was finished for at least 20-25mins we had to go to them, is wasn't even busy. Once we was done we wait then got bored after 10 mins so we went on our phones, a big indicator that we was done, still nothing so we then put our coats on after another 5-10 mins, another big indicator that we was done. The staff saw and still did nothing. After we got up and went to them the staff gave us the most dirty look off, you are rude, all what they was doing was building pizza boxes, not even serving. There was no apologies and then was asked if everything was okay, of course it wasn't, the manager didn't even come over to sort out the bill, they just carried on eating by the bar. Will not be going back at all.

Great cuatomer services. Food was lovely hot and very tasty. A nice waitress keep was smilling and pizza quattro carne and chicken parmigiana past. Both dishes looks so nice. Def we will be back
Kid-friendliness: With 2 boys Age 9 and 3 was bit difficult but staff memeber brought a coloring books and crayons

Food took ages to arrive, and then waitress was rude because we didn?t leave a tip? Plenty of nicer places to go than here in Braintree village, save your time and money!

Staff were attentive, food was fresh and tasty and the restaurant was busy, though not too noisy. A good experience and would visit again. A vegan menu is available upon request.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of tables offer good wheelchair access.

Such wonderful customer service from Adam and the store manager. We were seated at a spot that was comfortable for us, without being pressured to occupy a smaller table. The food was freshly made, and we particularly enjoyed the Romana pizza. The wine list is carefully curated, and as a wine connoisseur, I enjoyed their Soave and sampled a few others, which were equally pleasant. Adam has been so kind to us and professional to explain the options. We will absolutely be returning and were very pleased with both the food and the service.

Inconsistent food. 1 out of 3 pizzas cooked well, potato chips were so bad we returned them. Slow service through out and disinterested, unwelcoming waitress. Table next to us looked to be having an equally horrible time and at times it felt like we were sitting in Fawlty Towers. Unfortunately at the current proce point £120 for 2 courses (3 adults and a child) it's just not acceptable. We've visited many Pizza Express restaurants over years, this has been the worst and probably will now be our last.

I suppose we all know Pizza Express, as it's in most towns and cities in the UK. Been to one, been to them all...well not quite. Experiences and expectations differ depending upon various factors, such as food quality, location, management, staffing, service, date and time of visit, etc. This branch of Pizza Express is very well placed, right by Essex's Braintree Freeport Village Outlet, which attracts a lot of visitors and customers, especially in the run-up to the festive season.
We booked a table for 7 (4 adults and 3 kids - 11 years to 13 years) a few weeks ago on a Saturday early evening, and as expected, it was very busy. I'm not sure if walk-ins get sorted, but lucky for us, we booked. We were starving after spending time at the NAMCO Funscape Amusement Centre a short walk away, which helped us build up an appetite. As they were so busy, the service was slow ? and the kids were not happy. Once served, it took a while for the food to appear, and when it did, it tricked in, which wasn't the best, as we all wanted to eat around the same time. Maybe being seated in the far end of the restaurant didn't help ?. Patience was definitely a needed skill.
Also, to make matters worse, my meal (Nicoise salad) took the longest to arrive, and others at our table we almost through with their meals...I was not impressed. The waitress finally brought my salad, but it was the wrong order...she handed me a Chicken salad...I pointed it out, and had to wait another 8mins for my Nicoise to arrive. I was not a happy chappy.
The salad itself was very, very delicious ?, which was what I expected as I usually get this salad when at Pizza Express, but everyone was watching me munch it down, as they all had finished their meals.
When we settled the bill, we were able to get a discount with the Blue Light Card...this was handy, but as we received this discount, we couldn't also get the *Kids eat free* discount. Both discounts worked out to about the same amount. Our friends used that.
Overall, the food was very yummy all around, but the busyness and the table service left a lot to be desired. Would I recommend this Pizza Express, yes, and no. If you go there when it's quiet, then yes...Best avoid it when it's super busy, especially during peak times and on weekends when Freeport is packed. You decide.
