Good helpful service when buying 3 Guinea pigs however 1 had to be put down within 14days. The vet and staff were excellent and accommodating.

Absolutely disgusted with Pets at Home regarding their adoption process! My recent experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and their customer service is an absolute disgrace.
A few days ago, I adopted a rabbit from their Braintree Store. I was assured by their staff that she was healthy and ready for her new home. Imagine my horror when, just three days later, she was diagnosed with a life-threatening parasite by our own vet! (losing use of both her rear legs) This negligence on Pets at Home's part, in failing to properly health-check an animal before adoption, has not only put my new pet's life at serious risk but has also landed me with a staggering £300 vet bill.
Adding insult to injury, when I went back to the store to address this issue, the manager was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Instead of showing any concern, I was dismissively told to contact customer services. So, I did. Initially, customer services representatives assured me that they would cover the vet bills. Relief washed over me, only to be snatched away a mere 15 minutes later when they called back to retract their promise! This level of incompetence and blatant disregard for the well-being of the animals they rehome, and the distress caused to new owners, is appalling.
Pets at Home clearly failed in their responsibility to ensure the health of an animal before adoption, and their subsequent handling of the situation has been utterly unacceptable. Their assurances of the rabbit's health were clearly false, their in-store manager was dismissive, and their customer service representatives offered false hope. I would strongly advise anyone considering adopting an animal from Pets at Home to think twice. This experience has been traumatic and costly, and I wouldn't want any other potential pet owner to go through the same ordeal. Avoid at all costs!

Completely unprofessional. I bought a rabbit from pets at home, they stated that the rabbit has no medical conditions and has no previous illnesses - 3 days after bringing the rabbit home, she has been diagnosed with a life threatening parasite and now has 2 paralysed back legs that she can?t walk on. I went into pets at home, the manager was a disgusting lady, very rude and couldn?t care less about the animal and had no intentions of helping whatsoever. She was uninterested and rude to my partner and I. I then emailed the customer service team as she advised me to do, I?ve been told by one lady that I will be getting my £300 vet bill reimbursed, then 10 minutes after this confirmation, another lady has emailed me telling me that this won?t be going ahead. Completely disgusting and unprofessional staff and business. I would not recommend and will take this as high as I can.

My husband bought a female Syrian hamster from pets at home braintree for my grandchildren just under two weeks ago. We were advised to buy a large cage as her old one was too small which cost 44.00 in sale and bought other equipment with it too and the hamster. My daughter noticed there was a hole in plastic of cage the hamster has lots of toys and chews to play with. Rang store today to complain and see if they would do anything the colleague spoke to a manager who said it wasn?t their fault the hamster had chewed cage that we should buy more chews I said she had lots. I said they shouldn?t sell stuff that is unsuitable and she hung up. They are only interested in selling not animal welfare don?t buy here
