I was in here last Saturday 19th July with my baby. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that there was baby changing but horrified when it was out of order.

I bought a kitchen unit from here yesterday. The assistant kindly carried it to the till for me. I then realised it was too heavy for me to carry to the car so a lovely guy called Stewart helped me to get it in my car. He was really friendly and helpful. Very good customer service. ?

I tried to order something online (click and collect) but the site wasn't working properly, so I went in store only to be dismissed by the floor manager (I think that is what he said his title was, not that I asked for it) he told me that they don't have it, when I tried to explain that they had it online (it said this item is in store so C&C will be available within 15 mins) he said oh if its online then its not in store as they don't stock externally owned items in store and walked off without actually listening to what I said or before I could explain. So I went home and finally managed to order it via click and collect and it was available within 15 mins to collect so must have been in store for it to be ready straight away? Not impressed at all.

I used to work next to a B&Q store and was probably in there 3 or 4 times a week. I like the B&Q format and range, it fits nicely between Wickes (builder's merchant) and Homebase, which tends to stock mostly homeware. I find it has virtually everything a home-DIYer could ever need. The Braintree branch is 'medium-size', great for anyone who regularly gets lost in their giant stores, and doesn't relish a 30 minute walk to find a single item, but still stocks most things you could ever want.As well as range, another thing I like about B&Q is it's hiring policy, it tends to have a lot of 'older' staff who used to work in the trades, and are great for asking questions or getting a bit of advice. They don't have timber cutting at the Braintree store. This was one of my favorite services to get done, and only 50p a cut. I think the nearest store that does this is Colchester.

When I look back at my interactions with the B&Q designer team, I can't help but feel disappointed by the way they handled things. It seemed like their customer service was tainted by a strong dose of ego, which made them avoid giving genuine help. Instead of taking the chance to assist, they seemed to think that not helping somehow made them seem more important. This left me feeling frustrated and unsatisfied, as if I was left holding onto a sense of dissatisfaction that hung in the air, much like an unresolved melody in a song.

This is th best DIY centre I've used in a long time. The B&Q staff member (Gary) was so helpful, curtious, and professional. He made it very easy to order my bathroom/shower suite. The staff are there to assist and offer guidance, which is what Gary has done. Well done, B&Q, and thank you, Gary..... Today , on 13th April, I returned to B&Q to try and exchange an item that was to big. I was served by 2 very helpful ladies, Nikita and Chantelle, both very patient and professional, while trying to find a replacement shower screen. Chantelle and Nikita, I just want to thank you both so much for all your help... Thank you....... Gerry

Lovely hardware store, right inside braintree village. Stopped by to pick up a few finishing touches for our flooring. It was easily accessible and had all the items we required. In some sections, items such as nails or screws weren't labelled clearly enough, so many customers had to search the shelves to find the right item. However, I was greeted by a few lovely staff members who were ready to help. I will definitely return again.

Nikita who works on the bathroom sales desk is an angel, who helped coordinate a revision of our deliveries when we brought our installation forward. Also helped us choose similar bathroom furniture when some of the items were out of stock due to the January sales.
