A lovely set up and very interesting, enjoyable course. Excellent food and club house! - only downside was the mud and the sea shell path ways which get everywhere (all over the greens)

Played Saturday early AM as a guest. I've played it a few times before but today the course is in beautiful condition. Followed by a nice breakfast in the clubhouse. Well worth a visit ?

Lovely welcoming golf club with a course to suit , serving up a wide variety of challenges to overcome. I spent a lovely afternoon there and was made welcome by the pro shop , players and staff in the clubhouse . A nice pint was had warming down in the bar afterwards as well . .Thoroughly recommend !

Dear Sir/Madam.I Went to the club to play as a guest of a member on Monday the 9th of January 2023 my .I had checked on the website that the course was open and saw it said open.Did that mean the course not sure how else I could interpret it.On arrival I found the course was closed. I.spoke to a person in the Pro shop who was sitting behind the till who, when I mentioned there was nothing on the web site became immediately defensive saying "We don't work for the golf club, if you have a moan take it up with them"Couple of things really, first why wasn't the website updated which would have saved a 50 mile round trip and two, what an unwelcoming attitude by the face of the golf club whether the individual works for you or not they are the first point of contact so to be met by the response I did was pretty disappointing at best and gives me a bad reflection overall. Perhaps you can let me have your thoughts.Ian Hodgson

The golf course is terrific, with the greens being stand-out and are among the best you?ll play on as an amateur; true, fast, receptive and many of them very large but none are an easy 2-putt. There were some drainage issues and many of the fairways had become bogs due to combining poor drainage with over-use, no roping off and allowing more than just push trolleys but efforts since covid have helped get them back where they were.Clubhouse is good too; they?re always open post-round for food - something that?s becoming very rare these days. The spike bar is sadly tiny, so you?re forced to sit outside as the 2 tables inside are almost always occupied. Now to the club itself - this is nothing short of an absolute disaster. If you?re looking to join the club, I would not recommend it at all as they cannot and will not accommodate new members.I was a member for 5 years and in that time I got to know precisely nobody at the club. There was no rounds arranged to meet the Pro, or other members (despite that being in the membership pack), there are no open swindles groups that you can join (?they?re all full?) and you get turned away (at the 1st tee) from most comps if you don?t have a handicap. When I asked the membership secretary how I could get more integrated into the club he suggested I start my own swindle! Without knowing anyone at the club I wasn?t sure how that would work but it was moot anyway as there were no tee times left available on Saturday or Sunday in which to book anyway. So, the only way to acquire a handicap is to participate in 3 consecutive monthly medals, but don?t miss one because you?re handicap will become invalid in you don?t have 3 cards submitted in the past 3 months.A recent email from the Pro has highlighted now that many of the pre-booked tee times for the swindles aren?t being used and so they want to release them for general booking. Cool so maybe the swindles numbers have diminished of late and there are spaces? No, they?re all still ?full?.Summary: an absolute shambles.During covid there was a promise made to all members that if you renewed while the course was shut you?d have extra months added to your membership to cover when it was closed. That seemed reasonable and would help the club with cashflow so I did rejoin. No extra months we?re ever added though so it?s now tough to take the management at their word.Maybe I?ll think about rejoining in the future once they sort themselves out as the course really is nice with the greens a standout, but I?d want many assurances about integration and other issues first before parting with any cash.
