This review is exclusively about the restaurant. I at 76 and my sister at 72 both disabled and both visitors to the country went to Tesco Pitsea to do some shopping. We decided to have a coffee in the restaurant. I asked a staff member for a menu, not an unreasonable request. We were told they didn't have menus we had to use the machines. How we struggled until a staff member EVENTUALLY came over to us. She didn't really know how to operate the machine so had to get another staff.
What a palaver for 2 cups of coffee.
As we drank the coffee we watched other older people struggle with the machines including a man in a wheelchair who was completely mystified. He had to be helped by a customer.
I understand that these machines save on staff wages but is it not possible to have both machines and personal assistance with a menu for those customers who struggle with modern technology
Surely if McDonalds can cater for older customers with personal service Tescos should be able to.
PS the black, grey and white patterned flooring caused me to be lightheaded.
We will not be using the restaurant at TESCO PITSEA again.

Staff smash their car doors into customers cars and drive off without apologising, management doesn?t do anything.

Gradually slimming down their grocery product lines by dropping lots of 'own brand' goods forcing customers to buy 'big name ' brands as well as losing tech goods etc.
Not as good as it used to be.

Innocent People get accused of stealing by the weird woman on the till who still wears a mask even outside! Did not say anything to me herself got the manager and security to follow me out the shop and make a big scene! Embarrassing as I was in my work uniform so people thinking I'm a thief is not good!

I stopped by this car wash last Monday and was really impressed with the improvements under the new management! The service was quick, thorough, and very professional. My car looked brand new after the wash, and the staff were super courteous. You can really tell they care about customer satisfaction now. I?ll definitely be coming back?great job to the new team!

I love Tescos however the past few times I?ve been here they treat us like criminals. If we go during the day it?s too busy and can?t get a wheelchair around due to people not being able to open their eyes or staff pushing the click and collect things around and leaving them in the middle of the aisle, but if we go in the evening the cages are blocking everything so no wheelchair access and it?s a struggle to get a trolley around. Then after we pay up beofre we even make it to the door, our trolley is being checked and then when we walk out, if the alarm goes off or not we get checked again. One staff member said it is to do with body language, I have autism and my body language is different to others and no one else thinks I?m a criminal, will be putting in an official complaint for discrimination.

Came in to buy some plants but they are all nearly dead and as dry as a nun's fanny. Someone needs to water them or they will just be wasted.

Dirty, grimy, mould on shelves and behind displays, new store layout same old management, expect long queues and people who don't want to work there, mouldy items put out on shelves, vegetables and fruit dropped and kicks across the floor and then put back on the shelf, staff too short to reach so they stand inside the fridges and freezers to reach, stepping on produce, vegetables, raw chicken.
Whole upper floor has been closed to the public, meaning there is less items now on shelves because of the slightly expanded choice or range of items, things quickly run out
Hygeine items placed on the floor or inches away from filth
People who have obviously not been trained either in security or in merchandising, shelves usually virtually empty except a few items dragged to the front to pretend they are full rather than gettingnew stock out
Seriously gone down hill since the refurb which was just moving shelves to expose permenant filth in the flooring and to paint the store the most unappealing shade of grey.
Stock now put outside of hat was the toilets, now inaccessible, and seriously unhygienic, store frequently suffers from sewage blockages and can be smelled around the bakery area
A convenient dump
