If you're thinking of buying any sports gear or clothing that you cannot immediately sample, such as packaged items, then you will not be able to get your money back - only a voucher.
They enforce this rule even for non-hygiene items.
This is technically legal according to the gov website, but is massively anti-consumer. Think twice before you shop here and don't get stung like I did.

I've rang the basildon store so I can speak to game they don't answer the phone so I can see if a console is in stock to buy its a waste of time ringing this number and there is no other number to ring like customer services number so you can report this to an agent

BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!! NOT EVEN WORTHY OF ONE STAR..ABRUBT, RUDE MALE ASSISTANT AT THE TILL ,WHEN I TRIED TO GET REFUND ON NEW TRAINERS NEVER WORN AND WITH RECEIPT THE FOLLOWING DAY.
HAD TO ACCEPT A CREDIT NOTE AND WHEN I TRIED TO PURCHASE A NIKE RUCK SACK WITH PRICE TAG OF £11 WAS TOLD BY THE WOMAN ASSISTANT AT THE TILL THE ACTUAL PRICE WAS £29.95!!?
NO WAY, WHEN CHALLENGED SHE CONTACTED HER MANAGER AND ADVISED THAT WAS THE PRICE. ??
THE FACT SOMEONE IN THE COMPANY HAD PRICED IT UP WRONGLY DIDN'T COME INTO IT SO ADVISED SAID WOMAN "I DIDN'T WANT IT!!" AND WALKED OUT.
NOW STUCK WITH THIS CREDIT NOTE. I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THIS TERRIBLE STORE AGAIN, OR ANY OTHER OF THEIR BRANCHES!! STEER CLEAR!!

So disappointed. I wanted to buy a pair of trainers for a gift. All I asked, I want a brand new pair, that hasn't had anyone trying on. Couldn't do it for me. So I haven't bought them. The difference in the trainers was to much dirty sole and the suede was faded on one of them.

Terrible customer service. They need serious training in manners and how to treat customers.Standing idle and giggling. Asked to use a changing room. Just brushed me off to ask at the till, where 8 customers were standing in line. Some clearly working harder than others..

Terrible customer service and Racist.I had family visiting from abroad and brought them to buy some sportswear they where circled and followed around suspiciously. I raised my complaints to the supervisor and manager but they completely denied it and found it quite comical. If you treat your customers this way you will end up having no customers. Never shopping at this store again. If you?re of a minority group I suggest you don?t waste your time it was honestly embarrassing and unprofessional.
