Overcharged again there today check your receipts every time price reduced on ticket not at the till (convenient) never been under charged then had to que up again to get a refund no apology just treated like an inconvenience for noticing if I hadn't checked my receipt this weekend I would be £16.50 worse off it wrong these big chain stores get away with theft by deception and just oh it hasn't been changed on the system grrrrr.

Collecting parcels or using Click & Collect at this branch has been unnecessarily difficult. The staff often appear uninterested and unmotivated, and I?ve received conflicting or misleading information about my deliveries more than once.
If customer service is part of the job, it should be delivered properly. The current attitude and lack of efficiency are unacceptable. Customers deserve clear communication and basic courtesy this branch needs serious improvement!

Service was great, supportive and very friendly, but I would only state mens clothes, very limited and if you xxxl, you be lucky to find anything at all, but lots of things for the house.

I discovered Matalan when I moved to Basildon, and then I had my little girl, since then I have bought most of my clothes here because in addition to being a good shop it also has really affordable prices and the material is not at all poor quality. I find it very good because I can find exactly everything I am looking for, both men's and women's and children's stuff, and I can change my wardrobe according to the season with absurd ease by buying from Matalan. I mainly buy in the shop when I pass by that area because unfortunately it is not close by and so when I am free at the weekend, a little trip is always worth it.

Love this shop, popped in to have a look around the final sale items. Some great bargains to be had! Only niggle was that the reduced clothes were not all together, meaning stuff could be missed. However, I managed to bag some bargains and headed for the tills. Here, I discovered that Matalan has erroneously introduced self-service tills. Only 2 of these were working, and I was advised that as I had a lot of stuff, I should go to the customer service desk, the only manned till, although this was not clear. There then ensued a lengthy wait whilst the member of staff dealt with a return. Eventually, further manned tills were opened to deal with the growing queue behind me! Using the Matalan app meant a nice discount on my shop. But why oh why must you introduce self-service? Customers like interaction with staff, which makes the shopping experience even more enjoyable. This is not a fast food outlet where people need to rush to a self-service till, please, Matalan, rethink this move!
