Car failed MOT which is fair and booked in for repairs. It was more the customer experience I had was awful.\\n\\nFirstly, when the initial MOT was in progress the tech decided to grab my Dashcam and twist it pointing to the ceiling which is quite unnecessary since I?m watching them complete the mot and they are most likely on CCTV anyways. I didn?t quite understand the goal there. I understand people may not like to be filmed but I am paying you to do a service on my property doesn?t mean you can touch my personal property when it has nothing to do with the service. Then when the car was returned they didn?t bother putting the dashcam back in the original position I had to do it myself. Just felt like they didn?t really care how they used your vehicle.\\n\\nSecondly, the lady on reception was giving me false information, and I quote ?As it has failed MOT it wipes the current mot so you can?t drive your vehicle it is illegal, only to get it repaired?. Which was absolutely false. That is only true if the vehicle failed due to a dangerous fault which it didn?t. (This is backed up by the DVLA website). I still had 2 weeks left on my current mot so this would have caused me all sorts issues getting to work for the next week if I believed this. When explaining it is false they said when it fails they normally just go with that it wipes the current MOT out. So they are telling every customer who fails a mot they can?t drive their car as it is illegal, only to get it repaired which is quite shocking. Not sure if this is because they want to scare the customer into booking in repairs right away to make money or they genuinely don?t know, either is quite worrying for a MOT centre.\\n\\nAdditionally, the repair I needed was quoted for £120 which would consist of a new track rod that needed the wheel off, unscrewing the rod, screwing the new on and putting wheel back on excluding any alignments. Seemed well over priced so I bought the part myself else where for about £15 and a trusted garage fitted for £50 and took no more than 15 minutes to do. More than half the price Halfords wanted to charge.\\n\\nOverall, I wouldn?t use them again unless I was desperate as they over charge, give false information and didn?t really seem to care for your property.

We needed a tyre changed. We arrived during the day on a weekday to be told that we needed to book online. Went back to the car to do so, only to be defeated by the booking system. Gave up and went to a tyre place by Festival Leisure, who did it there and then.The response from Halfords asked me for my booking number. It was obviously a pre-written template. If they had read the above carefully, they would have noted that we gave up and went elsewhere.

Booked a service for repair check ,when I got there the man said he wouldn't be able to fix it as its automatic, another guy in the garage test drive it and said its a engine mount, I ask if I could get one he said he phone me back with quotes, he didn't have time for me ,just couldn't wait for me to go ,they wasn't even busy .I would advise people to not bring there car there don't waste ur time .

I?m April I got a new car and wanted an oil change, went to Halfords and it took over 2 hours but they did the job however this is when my car went downhill badly. There was severe oil leakage due to then not putting on the cap on properly. So after a month and realising this issue I went back and got it redone, no apology or refund for their negligence. Once the second oil change was done I noticed after a week they have taken off my BELT! So I had to pay out for someone else to put a new belt on and they said a belt could not just come off it has to be taken off. Ridiculous!! However this doesn?t end there, due to the severe oil leakage my alternator got ruined! So I had to pay out for another person to replace the alternator and battery due to killing off my battery!! £350 for all that plus everything else! So a simple oil change that should have take an hour turned into over £600 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY CAR. Absolutely ridiculous and would never be going back. I highly suggest other garages to get you work done.

Very helpful bunch of lads in there, mechanics very knowledgeable helping me diagnose the fault with my car. Only took a star away from the chain itself as I think should be more competitively priced.

Booked my car in for a health check turn up on the day walked half way in the door to be confronted asked is that your bmw x5 said yes booked in for health check guy said we ain?t touching that when to the till and gave me my money back and that was the end of it no explanation no nothing just gave my money back and walked off.

I booked in my mot with help from a lady called Kelly, she couldn?t have been more helpful if she tried. Got me in nice and early as I needed my MOT done asap! The next day I was helped by Karl who done the retest. Unreal service from both of them and couldn?t recommend more!

We use this branch for all the family cars and have been happy with the services provided for many years.This morning we had my wife's car checked for steering, due to hearing the occasional knock on full lock.Jake looked after us and got the MOT guy to take a look too, and we were advised all is OKWe also had a bulb replacement.The reason for this review is to specifically comend Jake for his excellent customer service, making my wife feel at ease, and explaining clearly what they had checked and the results. Very good service !
