Revolting. The bacon sandwich was greasy and sloppy as I picked it up pools of fat dripped out

The food was tasty and nicely presented. Although my husband would have liked a bigger piece of fish for his fish and chips. The staff were friendly and helpful. Inside space is limited and it had been raining hard.

Just found this place, while driving round Ashdown Forest, stopped for lunch and very impressed with the food and menu. Will definitely return as not too far from home.

Interesting menu, after a lovely woodland walk we dropped in expecting a few options for afternoon tea but was impressed with the menu , there are scones and cakes but also all day breakfast and blackboard specials . I had Catalan fish stew and my husband had rump steak with salad and fries. Homemade and deliciousLovely set up on an autumn sunny afternoon.Good coffee too

A lot of effort made to accommodate vegan request. Had a lovely guacamole on toast with spinach, tomatoes and chips. All generous portions.

We found this by chance and will definitely be returning. The quality of food in the café is excellent and the chef plus staff very friendly. Also the the garden centre/ nursery has a good variety of plants at a reasonable price. Ideal for children with a play area and lots of parking. It's closed on Mondays however open Tuesday to Sunday inc. If I had one observation it was that the sausage are skimny chipolata and I prefer a large meaty sausage however this is personal taste as my partner loved them and said the scrambled egg were to die for. Give it a go you won't be disappointed

Loved this place for years with the cafe in the dutch barn next the 400 year old chestnut tree. Best quiche ever known and equally good cherry pie and treacle tart, part of an extensive menu of home made food.Visited 2 July and discovered change of ownership. Impressive re-design inside, but disappointed with the menu, now completely different. The nursery has looked tired for a long time with the cafe the only redeeming feature. We know the quiche was extremely popular as it could sell out quickly on busiest days.I think almost everyone went there for the cafe which was packed, but rarely anyone in the nursery. Not many in the cafe now and on Sunday lunchtime too. It was the nursey that needed the change, not the cafe. If it ain't broke don't fix it !We'll pay another visit to see if the menu has improved. Best get that quiche going again and get the recipes from the previous owner !
