Be sure to stop by if you ever go to southern England. It is a castle that has well-preserved the original form of a medieval castle in England. The surrounding atmosphere is perfect

It was a little disappointing on selection as it seems the main cafe doesn't send enough up or keep it stocked enough. However the staff were amazing! They explained and tried the best they could. There are lots of wasps, but that's the time of year, and the ducks are so funny..... they love a treat but don't tell the staff, hahaha.

Small with limited indoor seating, especially on a rainy day, but decent selection of food/snacks. Usual prices for National trust. Great views over the lawns and Castle and plenty of friendly ducks to feed your crumbs to.

Only open when there are sufficient staff on duty, it is a small cafe (which can get overcrowded) but there's plenty of seating outside with good views of Bodiam Castle. The staff are friendly and helpful and the coffee was up to the usual good National Trust standard.

Lovely cafe with lots of seating outside. However during lunchtime extremely overcrowded. The queue to the till was so long people had to wait outside. I can recommend trying carrot and orange soup. Very delicious!

Overall our visit wasn't too bad. Beautiful area, vast uncrowded campsite. Facilities outdated but they warn you of this on their website. Our visit was really spoiled by a male member of the cleaning staff when I pointed out that toilet brushes were sitting in the holders in filthy water day after day and hadn't been cleaned since we arrived three days previously. He demanded to know what it had to do with me, I pointed out that as a customer I had to use the toilets. He then asked me if I used the toilet brush to wipe my a**e!! He repeated this several times in an extremely aggressive manner and as I am 78 years old I felt very intimidated. When I asked him if he had heard of the internet he replied that I could put what I liked on there and the management would tell me to... (at this point he held up two fingers). This really spoiled my stay at Park Farm Campsite and I would never go there again nor would I ever recommend anyone else to go there.

As soon as we arrived at the site the lady in the ?check in area? was extremely unwelcoming. I had never been to this site before and therefore as I was driving in I was trying to work out what I needed to do. However, almost immediately I hear a shouting voice from her stating ?you need to check in first it does say on the sign?. In my opinion if I was greeting a guest for the first time I would ensure I was being polite even if they did miss the sign which was a complete mistake . I am also aware that she was just as rude when my friends arrived at the site later on that day. Additionally, there was a situation where I was going over 5 mph which I am aware was wrong as its a camp site however a security guard followed me back to my tent and instead of telling what I had done and that I needed to follow the ?speeding rules? of moving my car to the front of the site in the carpark. He shouted and told me to either move my car or pack up my things and go, was that really needed especially when I was following what he said and apologised. He lied and said I was going 35 mph which was untrue and I hold mu hands up and say I was going about 15. I saw various other people on the site going the same speed I was or faster however they were not asked to move their cars. Overall, the site gave a very unwelcoming feel as well appearing very run down and unmaintained.

I will get to why this is a 1 start review later, if it wasn?t for one incident it would be a 4 or more likely a 5. Park farm does not pretend to be something it is not, it does have limited facilities and it is entirely honest about that on its website therefore people giving it bad reviews for this need to re-read what it has to offer. I thought the facilities were fine. Only once did I que for the toilet, this was on an extremely busy weekend when the weather was mid-30s. not once did I have to que for the showers. Some have mentioned a lack of hooks in the showers etc. I travel a lot hiking and climbing and stay at plenty of campsites and this is normal. Some of my group did que but this was usually to use the outside cubicles as these had more hooks to hang clothes and seat and were therefore better when you had small children with you. The cleaners worked tirelessly to keep the ablutions clean throughout our stay. The playpark was extremely popular with the kids. The Fires at night proved to be extremely popular around the whole campsite and this was a brilliant focal point during the evenings, and I can imagine the kids will remember this for a long time. Although slightly odd considering the heatwave however i would say it was pretty safe. The location is good too, not to close to any large towns but close enough if you want something to do. There is enogh to do within 20 minutes of the campsite and a small town with plenty of shops that meet al your needs. The shop onsite was very good considering its size, maybe a little pricey but all campsites are like this. The hot food was excellent, especially the burgers. The staff all around the camp were extremely friendly and helpful an made the stay more enjoyable. All except for one and this is why i give the place one star. We were a family of 12 adults (ranging from mid-30s to 60) and 9 children (ranging from 11 to a baby, most being toddlers). My niece went to the toilet with her son and the male toilets were closed for cleaning. When she finished using the female toilets she decided to wait with her son whilst he waited for the toilets to be reopened. An unrelated child went into the toilets and was messing around whilst the cleaner was trying to clean it. The cleaner then decided to start shouting at my niece for allowing her child to play in the toilets whilst he was cleaning. She then politely tried to explain that she did not know the child. He didn?t care and continued to scream and shout at my niece in front of loads of other guests. When he was finished a female cleaner came over to apologies as she realised that he had made a mistake as well as numerous other guests who witnessed this also comforting her. My niece was severely shaken up and broke down on her way back to the tent, her 11-year-old son then refused to go to the toilets by himself as he was scared. This then caused that part of our family to leave two days early. He also used the term ?you type of people? whilst he was having a go, was he labelling us as commoners or was he labelling us as snobs, I don?t know!!! We are a normal family originally form a council estate in London but now all live in Kent, we are all in good but physical jobs with a number of us having had full careers in the British Army. I think this comment wound me up more than the incident itself as he obviously has some prejudices but exactly what about I don?t know. I often read a review on here or elsewhere and think there is two sides to every story but in this case that definitely does not apply as the same cleaner was witnessed doing the same a fair few times mainly to women and the occasional smaller or younger male funnily enough. It was extremely hot that weekend and the campsite was very busy, and he had his work cut out, but this is no excuse for his behaviour. Firstly, that is no way to speak to someone and secondly, he got it completely wrong, the proof being the female cleaner apologising on his behalf as well as other guests. At the time my brother shot down there to confront him but he had left the toilets ho

Park Farm offers absolutely everything you could need for a camping trip; it has all the normal facilities - hot showers, clean loos, a variety of pitch types and a well-stocked shop. But where Park Farm excels is in the people who run it and the vibe. The trailer comes round each afternoon to sell you logs for a fire, the shop cooks your breakfast for you (if you wish) and nothing is too much h trouble. The way Park Farm is laid out works well for seasonal pitches, those requiring EHU and those looking for a more rustic experience. There is always a great cross-section and it makes for great conversations and superb people-watching opportunities. The walk to Bodiam along the river is also lovely and just off the site. We come here as often as we can and always have The Best Time.
