100% recommend this place. Great value for money. The nut roast was one of the best I?ve had. They also had a good selection of deserts and starters.

Excellent food.. Had the steak and half a pint of prawns. Really good. Staff were super pleasant and friendly will visit again. Right next to a car park as well. Happy days!

Lots of empty tables but told by rude staff member they were completely full and we should have booked. Was a Monday night so quiet. We went elsewhere but walked past an hour later and the same tables still empty.
Many places much better without the rude staff.

Decent room. Stayed for work so wasn?t here for long.
Not far from the beach and was in a nice quiet area.

We went in to book a table The manager(?) told us he only had 2 tables left for 8! So we went odor a quick walk around the town. Unfortunately we actually didn?t eat here. As we sat down and ordered our wine and food, we were informed no more fish & chips. So we left. We ended up in the Standard Inn. Much nicer atmosphere and great fish & chips. Aggrevation at first but in the end we were much better off. Thank you staff @ the Standard Inn, you saved our evening!

Food was amazing and really nice service. The Sunday roast dinner was lovely and hubby?s trout salad was lush. We also had desserts. Not too badly priced for two people.

We were looking for Sunday lunch and came across this place, so we decided to eat here big mistake, the service was terrible seem to be chatting to each other, starter of whitebait was really nice the Sunday roasts were shocking ordered the roast pork no crackling, limited veg, dry roast potatoes, chicken roast looked better will not be going back to this place.

Walked off the street for a drink and food on a hot afternoon today.... stood at the bar whilst a young served the only other person at the bar .. another lady drying glasses from the dishwasher and someone else walking around behind the bar .. all in all 3 people, no one acknowledged me at all .. when theyoyng lady finished serving.. she walled towards me and put something away in the cupboard behind the bar in front of me and walked away and served someone else who just walked in .. no eye contact, no acknowledgement... I just turnd around and left and went another establishment and spent 70.00 on food and drink .. won't be going back soon

I had a phenomenal stay at The Ship. Nick, Amelia, and the whole staff did a great job making me feel welcome, and the food and service were great. The location can't be beat, as it is only a block from basically everything in town. My only regret is that I only stayed one night!

Wonderful place in the city center of Rye! We arrived tired and hungry after a long hike from Hastings, and we're promptly showed to our rooms, which was clean and cosy. Rooms were small but there was a large window which allowed for natural light and good ventilation, and a nice view of the street. The hotel restaurant/bar served really delicious food, and we enjoyed the beef Sunday roasts! Crispy Yorkshire pudding and delicious chips. They ran out of fish and chips by the time we were there (~4pm) but there were plenty of other food to choose from. Shout out to the forced rhubarb dessert and the sticky date pudding!
P.S. appreciated the warm and welcoming service from the folks mending the check in counter as well as the young waitress with the long hair. Thank you :)

Fantastic meal last week. We particularly enjoyed the flight of local wines. The food was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Do try their home made pickles which were out of this world - best pickles I?ve ever had.
