Stupendous experience hand on heart from the moment entering this historic establishment... Having met Beth who works the hotel and customer service and bar, showed us the room(s) and they are gorgeous, so clean, fresh and incredible...
We were graced to have met Kim, the owner who shared the fine history of her grand Oasts, from its early days of drying out Hops for making beer, to what it is today, a beautiful hotel and pub...
I have to say, from meeting these two ladies and having the delightful conversation on this establishment and their remarkable friendly manners, they even directed us to the town of Rye and what it has to offer. We highly recommend you to visit this hotel and explore the hospitality we (Richie and I) had ... Overall- Superb

We stayed for one night at the Oasts Inn, in room number 4, which is one of rooms actually in one of the oast houses - with a round bed. The greeting at reception was friendly. The room itself was spacious, full of character, warm, and with an ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable. We couldn't help noticing some cobwebs in the beams over the bed, but it didn't worry us unduly. If the light was in the wrong place the cleaner may not have seen them. The room was nice enough, but the bathroom in particular had some chipped paint round the basin, and when we tried to use the shower it took ages to get hot water, and the shower head needs replacing for something larger.
The accommodation just seemed a little tired. In addition the TV supplied wasn't a SMART TV, so we were unable to access any internet programmes like Netflix. At £150 a night, this seemed pretty poor to me.
The breakfast was fine. We didn't have the 'full English' - just beans on toast, cereal, coffee and toast with jam - served in nice individual pots.
To sum up - I booked this for a special occasion - and paid an off season 4 star hotel price at £150 for one night. I feel I overpaid somewhat.

This is our 4th visit to the Oast house, as always the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast also top quality as usual. It was the 1st time we stayed in the round room which was very nice, only criticism is the shower is not very powerful, will certainly come and stay here again.

We were there in 1998(!!!!!)
We drove through southern England on spec and ended up here. We were first inspected by the managers and after consultation (!) we were given a room. We felt like that was a privilege...
After dinner, one of the gentlemen told me that the Beatles used to rehearse at their place. The next morning at breakfast it turned out that a certain Paul Weller had also spent the night. No further customers. According to the manager, a famous pop star. We had never heard of him at the time. On the ferry to NL we saw that an entire department in the record shop had been set up with his music.
All in all an unforgettable and special memory!?
Noteworthy details: Our experiences then, in 1998, were only positive.
The review is intended to share a good, special memory of this hotel!
We (unfortunately) cannot say anything about what the hotel is like now...

What fabulous service today! The female bar assistant made us feel so welcome when we visited for lunch. We come every year as a treat - this time was extra special. Lovely location, lovely food - but most of all - a warm welcome and such fantastic 10* service from this lovely lady. Thank you!

Thoroughly disappointed with this booking. Arrived at the cottage and was greeted by the first problem that the gates to our "private courtyard" did not close, despite checking on the phone earlier and being reassured that it was secure and our dog would not be able to escape. Once inside, it was clear that the cottage hadn't been cleaned properly with cobwebs and spiders all over the corners of the ceiling and dead flies all over the floor.
Into the bathroom, we found a massive roach with a load of what looked like larvae or eggs in our ensuite sink (see photo).
Arguably the worst part for our 2 night stay was that the Wifi didn't work in this room, despite at the time it being advertised as working, and there was very unreliable phone signal so we were pretty much without internet the entire stay. When I brought this up at reception, the lady said that she wasn't aware of the issue but that after checking, someone was coming to fix it later in the week. This would have been useful information to know prior to arriving as we would have booked somewhere else. When I relayed this to the owner after our stay, she gave very cold and unhelpful feedback.
The staff seemed to mirror this attitude throughout our stay, highlighted on our last day when enquiring about the possibility of a slightly later check out (by 1 hour), the woman at the reception simply replied "why are you asking me?".

A hotel in severe need of refurbishing I wouldn?t say it was dirty but it certainly want pristine. The bed was dated and needs replacement and the breakfast was average at best The price we paid was excessive for the experience we had. Won?t be going back
