We were assisted by Adrian at the front desk who was extraordinarily helpful during a stressful situation with our booking!! Thank you Adrian! We love the property and appreciate the customer service greatly.

We had one of the top floor rooms which was amazing, with a huge terrace, and great views from the bedroom and bathroom. Super comfy bed and had everything we needed. Breakfast was also really good and was very generous. Great location to explore Rye from. The only thing is the hotel looks a little sad from the outside and in the stairwell, but this may not have been helped by the fact we visited in winter

Had a wonderful 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was clean. Its in the perfect location as the back door brings you out in the middle of Rye town. Definitely staying here

Didn't venture in as it was the evening of Rye Bonfire and so they were only letting staying guests through the door. The bar outside was serving drinks and nice hot chocolate!

Really liked the hotel, room was basic but clean and comfy, lovely area for drinks and breakfast outside and perfect location. However, had major issues with the payment for the rooms being charged double the amount, and the hotel taking almost a month to refund this mistake. Without any warning or notification, the hotel charged me for my rooms the day before arrival. Upon arrival, they then charged me again at the desk. After realising this double payment through checking banking apps, I had to go through many emails and around 10 phone conversations over weeks in order to get this money back, with the staff being very disjointed, blaming it on eachother and having no urgency. I had to repeat my situation multiple times to multiple people which became very tedious. They then refunded the wrong amount and had to chase again to get the full payment. They were always polite but communication was really poor and it really let the experience down.I would recommend checking your banking apps and payment methods with the hotel before and upon arrival to avoid this issue.

Cancelled my booking on the day, a few hours before I was about to leave. Even though I booked weeks before! Completely ruined my whole weekend! Totally incompetent! Said they would ring round and try and find an alternative, never heard back from them! Useless!

I?m not usually one for negative comments, but I was sincerely disappointed by our time spent in this hotel. We had an initial panic a couple of days before arriving as a staff member cancelled our booking and made no attempt to contact us directly to even discuss this (we booked this months ago, for a wedding event - and they cancelled it at midnight 3 days prior). When we arrived on the day, we did in fact arrive a bit early, but no options were made available for us, we were told to come back at 3. When we came back at 3 we were told that it would be another 20 minutes, this turned into 1h/1h30 extra. No options were provided to us whilst we waited and the staff did not seem concerned. For breakfast, the first day it was very much each to your own. We weren?t asked our room number, nobody sat us down, or gave us knives and forks or a menu. We helped ourselves. The selection of continental breakfast really needs an upgrade, it?s a very small round table with a couple of options. They need more options and a tea / coffee machine for people to help themselves. The rooms desperately need an upgrade - the bathrooms are tiny.. an old shower with a curtain that sticks to you, and a toilet with a dodgy flush. The equipment is also very old, a dusty old fan and a hairdryer from 2011 that sparks and overheats every couple of minutes.. worrying!Sadly overall it was not worth 162 pounds per night.. I did feel there was lacking professionalism for a hotel.

This is not a great place to say. Whilst checking into the hotel, my wallet was gone through and my credit card and a boots gift card were stolen, then an attempt was made to take out £147 from my account to transfer to apple pay, the transaction was unsuccessful, but a few days later another attempt was made and this time they lifted £180 out of my account through apple pay. It was obviously an experienced thief as they left my other cards behind so I wouldn't notice the two cards were missing. Checking into the hotel was chaotic. The room was meant to be ready at 3pm, when we arrived at 4pm the room was not ready so we had to wait, this caused a distraction for the thief to operate. We also requested twin beds and again this was not done, so again we had to wait for them to rearrange the beds. The hotel describes itself as shabby chic, unfortunately it is more like shabby, it's incredibly dirty in places and the whole place just looks really really tired. Our room smelled of damp, the bathroom had specks of black mold on the ceiling, and had a thick layer of rust around one of the metal frames of the shower. There was significant dust deposits around the curtain rail in the bathroom and also blocking the bathroom extractor fan. The room was filled with rickety old furniture, the walls were marked. the cushion cases looks like they hadn't been washed for ages. they smelled of damp and dirt. The continental breakfast was a massive let down, tinned fruit, boxes of cheerios, cheap cartons of juice. The coffee machine wasn't working and the staff were having to percolate coffee by hand,. The hotel really needs some serious tlc injected into it. Even the bin of the reception toilet was overflowing with dirty paper towels. And I ordered a product from Amazon for next day delivery which I received delivery conformation for, which apparently never arrived when I checked several times with reception. I am sure there are both safer and better places to stay in Rye

A wonderful hotel with very welcoming and responsive staff. They were able to see to my wife's various dietary needs for the most part during our stay and worked well around obstacles like the coffee machine breaking. Our room was lovely and large, although we were able to hear lots of the goings on in other rooms and the car park. The food served for breakfast was lovely too. The hotel is located just off a main road through the town, with shops and restaurants in easy walking distance (the road out of the front is quite busy and there's no pavement so a quick crossing in required). There is also a viewing point just up the road in one direction and an old gate post in the other.
