I took my mother into the branch to open an account following advice from her accountant. We were armed with all the documentation that we thought we would be expected produce. Following a short wait, we were served by a member of staff. Mum's hearing isn't what it used to be so the annoyingly loud radio station that was being played from speaker above our heads meant she was relying on lipreading. We explained that we had come to open an account but were told we had to open it online and were offered some information to take away. We explained that mum doesn't do internet banking hence us braving the elements and restrictive parking etc and talking face to face, but apparently that's not a thing anymore. Mum would have been a new customer and is quite a wealthy lady, but it seems that unless you're online, they're not too bothered. We both walked away amazed and deflated.

I?ve used many Nationwide offices over the years and have never been disappointed. The Rye branch is the best of all with friendly, helpful people who are always ready to go the extra mile to solve a problem.They are a invaluable resource to the local community and would be sadly missed if the branch was ever closed.

I watched a staff member showing such kindness, common sense & compassion, showing an elderly lady how to use the cash machine ? this seemingly simple act is just the sort of thing that enables people to feel confident enough to do things like this, also helping everybody else along as means fewer people in the building! She was so helpful getting our matters sorted out, with a smile and leaving me feeling far less anxious going into the Branch in Rye ? we are so lucky to have you there Nationwide Rye & long many that be so!

The branch in Rye is the only reason I maintain my account with NW. Always polite and cheerful.Big question is for the head office - why is the NW nationally still keeping exceptionally short hours each day, even more so as I am aware that staff are in branch for the full hours? It is simply not good enough to put customer service last. Back to normal please and then I won't have to stand in a queue every time I want to go to a branch.

The Nationwide staff in Rye are exceptionally friendly, cheerful, helpful and always looking out for your interests, often suggesting better alternatives to suit our needs. They were always the best banking service in town - and it hasn't changed since the competition left. Many thanks.

I've moved from Ireland to the UK and I was just looking to set up a current account for wages. I did approach another bank who said due to covid-19 only online applications could be made for new accounts. They advertised that it would be stress-free (it wasn't) and easy (it wasn't-their IT system wouldn't accept the documents) and worst of all the bank would not allow you to apply within the branch. What was I to do? So on the advice of a friend I went off to the Rye branch of Nationwide and within a few hours between the super helpful branch staff and the cheery telephone customer service staff they were able to set me up with my much needed current account and online banking. Thank you Nationwide and please remember good staff make the difference when choosing a financial institution.

All the staff at the Nationwide in Rye are amazing. When my father died they could not have been more helpful and understanding and on my last set of visits every query I had was dealt with immediately. They are a real asset to the town.

Went in today to get some more information on the status of my account as a student and all my anxieties were soothed! The staff worked together and helped me extend my student account. The service was easy and I appreciate their time and patience!

This branch has a group of staff that is second to none ,they know a great proportion of their customers by their first names and everyone is greeted with a smileI highly recommend this branchI have been a customer for 30 years plus and would only leave Nationwide if you close this branch
