Great range of food and friendly staff in a diner style setting. We only tried the fish and chips and chicken on this occasion and both were delicious, well portioned and fairly priced. Would definitely recommend.

Route 1066 Café doesn?t just get it right ? it restores your faith in fried chicken. After trying certain nearby places that felt more like a test of gastrointestinal endurance, this spot is a welcome return to actual food made by people who care.
The chicken is consistently excellent. 10/10. Fresh, hot, and properly fried every time. Crispy outside, tender inside ? it?s clear someone in that kitchen knows exactly what they?re doing.
Chips? Another 10. Crisp, well-seasoned, and served in generous portions. They taste like they were made to be eaten, not just exist.
The value for money is also spot on. You get proper portions without being rinsed at the till. No stingy boxes, no corners cut ? just good, honest food.
Staff are friendly and attentive. They greet you, get the order right, and seem like they actually want you to come back ? which is more than can be said for some places just up the road.
If there?s one small downside, it?s the dining area. The food?s great, but the tables and chairs could use a more regular wipe-down, especially during the busier times. Nothing major ? just a bit more attention would go a long way.
Compared to the other local spot where orders are wrong, staff stare like you?ve interrupted something sacred, and the food arrives colder than your ex?s heart, Route 1066 stands out. By a mile.

My husband had the meal deal 1 which contained 3 pieces of chicken and once he bitten into one of the chicken pieces it looked a yellow colour and just didn't look right. He had got food poisoning from this and we are now on day 5 and he is still poorly and waiting on a doctor. Will NEVER return to this place again

We came here on Saturday, we were really impressed with the improvements to facilities, the menu offered traditional cafe foods but we decided to try their curry! We had a lamb buhna, and chicken tikka masala? it was delicious!!! And great presentation and the service Was really friendly. Great place to stop by, and super relaxed atmosphere. Bikers community and others can relax and enjoy here for sure ?

Went in last night at around 10pm. Staff were all chilling out the back and it took ages for someone to come out. A surly dude sauntered out eventually and I bought my £1.25 doughnuts. When I got home I noticed he'd charged me £7 for them. I just tapped and didn't think to check at the time. More fool me. I'll never buy anything from there again.

Lovely young man behind the counter yesterday evening.
We were curious about the changes and pretty hungry too.
We were really impressed with the fried chicken- hot, fresh , golden, tasty and quick.
Who knew we'd gain a rural KFC whilst grabbing the essentials?!
Yes the bikers cafe was amazing but we're all responsible for things changing according to supply and demand; this isn't the horrific change some of these reviews make it out to be.
Would recommend the fillet burger and the chips were divine ?

Seems to depend on what time you go.
During the day - nice staff, good food and speedy.
During the evening - dont even bother, staff not even interested in serving you and overheard other customers that they had been waiting over half an hour for their takeaway.

stopped by today and had butter chicken with mango chutney and poppadom...was absolutely delicious...also had one of the smoothies very lush ??
