Lovely lunch today at Grounded at the Forge. Delicious Bagels all round and the best chai latte in the area. Thank you guys.

Made my first visit to Grounded at the forge yesterday for a coffee and pastry as some friends had recommended. We popped in just before 11 and was told to take a seat and someone would be over to take my order, sadly I waited nearly 15 minutes and had to go to the counter to order, despite the cafe to be relatively quiet. I was sad to then find out that the Vegan options for a cake/pastry had all sold out. I was told the Almond Croissants were fantastic but couldn't confirm this as they had completely sold out of these and their Cinnamon swirls.
When I ordered with the waitress I was told there was no decaff coffee available! Which was yet another disappointment! My husband said that the flat white he had was very nice coffee though and the waitress I spoke to was very apologetic and friendly.
I'm hoping this was an isolated incident, but one which didn't give us the best first impression.

Great brunch with friends sitting outside in the sunshine. Service and food was spot on and even though busy, nothing was too much trouble and the food and coffee delicious. Freya in particular was excellent. Very happy to recommend.

Visited a really excellent coffee shop in Ringmer three times now. Oat and soy flat whites extremely good. Great smoothies. Lots of different space. Comfortable seating. Very friendly and attentive. This was a bit let down by the food. We had a galette ? decent but not amazing. The vegan waffle BLT was odd ? I guess deconstructed would be the kind description. Everything could have been a bit better ? crispier lettuce, riper tomato, bacon not as dry ? mostly it was a heap on the waffle. Then the avocado toast should be the thing that is hard to get wrong. The avocado itself was great but it needed lime juice, a little more coriander, and a bit more mashing. Then a more interesting dressing more seeds. The sourdough is also bland ? given that there is such great artisan sourdough around this was a disappointment. I would see what Gails in Lewes does for its avocado toast and compare. Nevertheless, we will go back for the ambience, coffee, smoothies and maybe crepe galettes.

It?s a great place to hang out, definitely bigger and cuter than you?d think - photos don?t do it justice! Thank you so much! Will be back and would definitely recommend!!!

I wanted to give 5 stars as it's a beautiful place but 70p to change the dairy milk to oat milk is so much more than the price difference and feels like it's taking advantage of people.
Such a shame as it's a great place otherwise and the staff were lovely.
Really nice cake and nice Americano, I just would have preferred a latte :)

Update- went back for avocado toast, which was much better. We also had an amazing fruit smoothie and Nutella crepe.
Great coffee, friendly service but avocado toast was mushy and tasteless - needs work! The galette was nice- was a Stilton crepe that needed a bit more of the honey spinach and walnut

Couldn?t recommend it enough for someone wanting delicious food, a buzzy yet relaxed atmosphere and great service. Also, for the quality of food, service, etc. it is exceptionally fairly priced.
Went here for some afternoon tea on a Sunday to celebrate my mum/dad?s birthdays and we all had a great time.
All of the staff were lovely/attentive, but the person who was serving us in particular was so welcoming, accommodating and friendly - especially so, given we had a few dietary requirements, a couple of birthdays and plenty of questions on the menu.

We came here to celebrate my parent?s joint birthday with a delightful cream tea. The staff were all so friendly and they accommodated our big group brilliantly. They allowed us to stay late, put birthday bunting up for us and accommodated our dietary requirements with ease. Not to mention the food was fabulous, especially their scones! We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back. Thank you Grounded team!

Went to Grounded for a family birthday treat and it was a treat. We had a lovely cream tea with warm bagels of various fillings including veggie (and veggie bacon!), scones, cream and jam, and Victoria spongs/Banoffee cake.
Service was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us. Food was very good with plenty of choice for meat eaters and veggies. Great choice of drinks. Lovely experience in the 'forge'.
Thank you

I have to admit this is one of my favourite places for coffee, cake or a light lunch. Especially coffee. The staff are always welcoming and seem genuinely interested in me as a person not simply as a paying customer. There is seating outside and inside and plenty of parking. What is there not to like?
