I visited The Anchor Inn today for a Sunday roast, hoping to enjoy a nice meal and atmosphere. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. While sitting in the garden, there were two large dogs roaming around that did not appear to belong to any customers. When our food arrived, one of the dogs ran towards our table and attempted to reach our plates. Despite my husband?s repeated efforts to gently move the dog away, it continued circling our table, drooling and trying to get to our food.
I have a fear of dogs as well as an allergy, so this situation made me feel very anxious and uncomfortable. I was unable to enjoy my meal and had to leave the table after only a few bites. What made the situation even more upsetting was that staff members and other guests saw what was happening but did nothing to remove the dog or assist us.
As a result, I left without being able to eat the meal I had paid for, and my Sunday was completely ruined. I am very disappointed by both the lack of control over the premises and the absence of support from the staff.

Was a very busy Friday evening when it seemed like everyone in the village was out for a meal here. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal but did have to wait a while for the mains.

Just been to the Anchor Ringmer with my mum and wife. I was very impressed with the service and food.
We all had a different roast dinner and it was so tasty. Well cooked and just enough. It has to be one of the best roasts out I?ve had in along time/ if not the best ?. We will most certainly be back ? well done to you all

Food is unfortunately worse quality - the cheese on the burgers was rubbery and felt like it had been microwaved. Service good but erratic - spoilt by a very large table in the restaurant. Totally understand that a large table will impact service, but if there was going to be a wait on food it should have been communicated. Disappointing as have had great food here before.
