10/10 - best garage in Brighton and Hove. I hadn?t heard of HiQ until my car broke down late on a Sunday night and the RAC driver recommended it. I?d recently had a bad experience at my usual garage, so I sceptically agreed to be towed here. Glad I did, because HiQ will be my go-to in future.
By 10am Monday morning, they?d totally gone over the car, diagnosed the problem, and noted a few other bits to monitor / repair if I wanted. Unfortunately, but as suspected, my gearbox was the issue and needed replacing, so was a big repair and not something I?d budgeted for after only buying the car a couple of months ago (lesson learned!). The lady in the office (whose name I didn?t get - sorry!!) and manager Steve were both SO helpful and understanding. I wasn?t sure if it was even worth repairing the car but they talked me through my options, without pressuring me into making any decisions - which is always a worry going to any new garage, especially alone as a young woman.
After deliberating for a few days, I decided to go ahead and get a refurbished gearbox with warranty. The courier got delayed, meaning I?d be without a car over the weekend (really my fault for taking so long to decide) but HiQ sorted me out with a nice courtesy car. It?s a busy garage - obviously a testament to their reputation - but the new gearbox was delivered on Monday afternoon, and my car was ready the next morning.
The work was very reasonably priced, and they went above and beyond - which was extra nice because must I have been a difficult customer (sorry again). Car has been going well now for the couple of weeks and few hundred miles since I?ve had it back. Thank you Steve and HiQ team ?

Very grateful to Steve at HiQ. Car broke down on the last day of a holiday on a Sunday and RAC towed us here. Phone call back from Steve on Monday with a quote, then on Tuesday morning it was all fixed and safe to drive. Very efficient and professional. Great communication. Would 100% recommend. Steve has looked after my Peugeot Boxer for a couple of years now and I have been very Happy with the service - The van was recently checked over by Peugeot as there was a recall and they gave me a list of ?faults? that they found. I asked Steve to look at the list and do the repairs but he had the vehicle checked and only did what he thought was necessary saving me a lot of money. Tomorrow my car goes there for an mot and full service saving me over £200 from my previous garage and I know the car will be in very good hands and have no hesitation to recommend Steve and his crew at HiQ Autocare Portslade.

The garage were great when I took my car for its MOT. They allowed me to drop off my car at a convenient time for me and let me know the outcome of the MOT very quickly. Although it passed, I?ll be getting the ?Advisory? work completed there. Thank you!
