Hadn't booked a table but the staff were very accommodating to seat a group of 5.They helped with getting our elderly parents in and out of the cafe. We all had breakfast which was lovely. Fast and friendly service. Great atmosphere. Definitely will visit again (even if it's just for the odd cake or two

New owners. Really friendly when I have been in. The coffee is excellent!! And bakery beautiful. Have not eaten a hot meal yet but really pleased every time I have been in. I hope they do well as we were really pleased it was not going to shut.

Very good bread pudding. Decent pot of tea, not overpriced. Pleasantly cool even in hot weather. Allows well behaved dogs. Rather disorganised and slow service. Forgot something from what I ordered. Pleasant freshly made sandwich with crisps, but nothing to write home about.
I might go back if I was in the area and wanted lunch or a cake, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to rush back

Really really slow service, waited over an hour for a lunch order, 7 staff on and about 6 tables in, cannot explain the level of inefficiency, truly mind-boggling. And then the order was wrong when it came. Staff weren't unfriendly but not that welcoming either.

Have eaten here a number of times since new owners have taken over. Love the fact that everything is cooked from fresh by the chef, which may take a little longer but its worth waiting for. Lovely selection of food, cakes, bread. My absolute favourite was the pancake stack with maple syrup which were bloomin' gorgeous! Staff busy but always friendly. Been in a few times a week and not had a bad experience yet.(unless you count Simons jokes!)

Absolutely awful breakfast. Egg underdone,bacon overcooked uneatable, hash brown burnt,bread was stale at best, when I brought this to Simon the cook he told me it was absolute bolocks !! What a way to speak to a customer , especially a food critic , I think that they need someone who can actually cook and perhaps things might improve!!!tea and coffee are fantastic, bakery items are really nice , maybe because Simon had no hand in cooking them

Unfortunately not great under the new owners. We used to go weekly have been reluctant to go but we gave it a chance. Servers staring at you when you've gone in to order, there was 3 of us in the garden another person came out saying the same. When they bought drinks out they had no idea who they were for or what order number, the family across from us they'd given the wrong number to. Much smaller portions than previous. Allergens not taken seriously which is disappointing. Toast pre buttered when dairy allergy given. Staff & service not great. Unfortunately won't be returning

Went in for the first time since the new owners took over and we were disappointed. The staff were friendly although it took them 40 minutes to get us our food with no prior warning with other tables that arrived after us getting their food first and it also being rather quiet. The food was also a massive let down with the fish and chips being extremely lacklustre with a tiny fish with about 90% batter. We won?t be returning which is a shame as the old owners made it a great place for a Sunday lunch. Only positive was my partners jacket potato having plenty of filling?

We came here as fussy Londeners, one plant based one keto and they couldnt be more helpful to ensure we both got a great breakfast. Warm staff, friendly service and great outdoor seating area.

Great little eatery in Pevensey and handy to call in there after a visit to the nearby castle as there is no cafe there. Food tasty, service good and plenty of friendly people about - great atmosphere.
