Came here as the reviews said it was a dog friendly pub - oh my goodness I cannot speak more highly of this place! The food was amazing! Lady behind the bar was fantastic and the chef came out to meet us?? would drive back down here just for this pub!

Stopped on the way back from rye harbour. Lovely welcome from lady behind the bar. Came to our table to take drinks order and food. Really good pub food and very good prices. We liked the atmosphere, children enjoyed their meals! Lovely pub

We had a really nice family meal last Sunday late afternoon, whilst camping nearby. We were made very welcome and enjoyed watching the Woman's Euros football final on the screen!

Found this pub/restaurant on Google thought we would give it a try Sunday 22nd July both thought it was a little gem first of all parking was great I had booked a table had garlic mushrooms for starters then for mains we had the steak & ale pie one with chips and one with mash then apple crumble for afters and with drinks I think the cost was very reasonable .
Staff were friendly service was great definitely be going back.

Such a shame as they were clearly understaffed, but the food took over an 1h 20min to arrive and when it did finally arrive, the kids 'pizzas' were like defrosted quiche. So sorry, can't recommend.

Lovely pub to visit. Food was nice, staff were lovely and nice atmosphere and good Guinness ?? also, has a pool table as well if you love a little game with family and friends.

Amazing, fresh food.
Our first time eating there, will definitely be going again!
Had a table for 7 on a quiet Sunday.
3 adults plus 4 children.
All the children loved and ate their food, as did the adults.
Venison pie was lovely and packed full of meat.
Kids and adult roast were gorgeous with melt in your mouth beef.
Couldn't have asked for a better meal.
All in all came to just over £90 including drinks, so amazing value for money.

As an older couple marrying at the local church, we decided on The Broad Oak for the reception as it is nearby and only a few friends and family as guests. We were not disappointed. Our guests were full of compliments on the buffet, which we chose and was exactly to our specifications. The landlord and staff were extremely helpful throughout. Well done !!

We?re in Hastings on a mini break, we were recommended to eat at a local pub down the road from where we are staying called The New Inn. It was shut so we drove up to The Red Lion, also shut, stumbled upon The Broad Oak and by 5:30pm we were v hungry. Walked in and first impressions were this is very much a local pub, the man behind the bar was clearly entertaining the locals and there were eyes on us when we walked in. Went out to the beer garden and ordered some drinks, I asked for the menus, dinner gets served from 6pm. He pointed me to the specials on the board. All sounded fantastic and the menu had a lot of choice. We had the dog with us and decided to take him back so the man took our food order and said to let him know when hubby was on way back and he?d put it in kitchen so food wouldn?t be delayed. Food was so good, my eldest and I had the Chicken Gyros. The plate was loaded and the food was well presented and delicious. My youngest had the Italian burger from the specials board and my hubby had the all day breakfast. I cannot tell you how good the food was. We were all absolutely stuffed. The prices were also very reasonable too considering how everything right now is ridiculously expensive. We all had more than one drink and dinner and it was less than £100, which for a family of four these days is rare! The man behind the bar was really friendly and the bar maid that came in also. We all agreed we?d happily go back for the live music in a couple of nights time. :)

Unfortunately for the location of the place, it is missing a trick.
I had to send my steak back twice, and it still wasn't right, and there were other issues when taking the order as two of the orders came out wrong!
Didn't even come round to top up the drinks ? overall experience wasn't good, although the place itself is clean, tidy, and spacious. Shame really ?
