We booked a table for 12 people and pre ordered. The food arrived soon after we arrived and was served quickly by very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was very helpful when I was doing the booking and even did a special meal for me as I am a fussy eater. We had to get back to Northiam station to get the steam train so their help and speed of service was invaluable. Thank you to everyone on duty on the 24th August, a great meal, with fast friendly service. Brenda and family

What a beautiful little hidden treasure. I highly recommend a visit. Surrounded by country side and right next to the river. The food and staff are great . I look forward to our next visit.

Great atmosphere with incredibly friendly staff. We loved the laid back vibes. Didn't have any food so cannot comment. Would highly recommend for a relaxing drink and more. Alex was super friendly and helpful.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at Lime Wharf Cafe. Robin picked myself and a large team of lovely ladies up from Bodiam yesterday and we cruised down the river to the cafe where we were warmly welcomed by the most friendly staff. We had drinks and enjoyed some time relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. This place is amazing. Thank you and thank you for just being wonderful ?

Food is very nice, and menu relatively distinctive, but portions modest and prices therefore not.
Location is lovely on a sunny day in summer, but a wait of over 40mins for food, after we got to order, plus a wrong size drink delivery (even when I questioned the size as not seeming ?large? as ordered), brings down the service experience. When our food order was chased we were told ?there is quite a wait?. It would be more helpful and open to be told this when ordering. We ate nearly an hour after arriving.
Service offers like ?any additional sauces?? etc only add to the service experience if they are ever fulfilled; ours wasn?t today, though this was not vital, just symptomatic. There seemed quite a few young severs, but overall more willing than able.
I?d like to want to return, as the prospect and ?promise? are so good, and past experiences here have been more positive, but can only imagine it will be this way through a summer that will only get busier?.

Driving back from Camber Sands came into this place looking for an ice cream... Found that ice cream along with amazing BBQ, lovely garden bar, excellent DJ and in general fantastic summer vibe. Couldn't have been more happy with the surprise. Will definitely be back for a proper session in the future

Nice chilled out couple of ciders after a busy days work. Chilled music and vibe food looks and smells tasty as well although I didn?t eat maybe next time

OMG I had the Brisket Burger today, after a lovely two hour paddleboard on the Rother, and it was sublime!!!
Highly recommend this place, the staff, ambience, decor, chilled vibe, service is just as good as the food itself.
Looking forward to returning and trying the bouillabaisse!!

Honestly you should not only visit if passing but suggest one should actively seek it out if looking for delicious food and great service. A menu packed with traditional and the exotic, all of which are utterly scrumptious. We live 250 miles away and have eaten in loads of similar establishments but my husband still holds his veggie breakfast here as the best he?s ever had and I?m inclined to agree. If you are making a special trip, there?s plenty to do nearby and as they?re situated right on the river so you can even hire one of their kayaks and go for a leisurely paddle to Rye soaking in the beautiful scenery or take the plunge a have a swim. Fab place?go!

5 stars all round. A nice and cosy cafe with a large outdoor seating area. The cafe was a bit nestled away and did take a second to see where we had to go.
The food was brilliant and the staff were efficient and kind. We had the eggs Benedict and eggs royal which were brilliant. Everything tasted super fresh and the egg yolks were so orange.
Definitely recommend and will be coming back.
