This was our first visit to this lovely pub. Great ambience and decor, staff are very friendly and the food was delicious (we had the beef roast which was reasonably priced and plentiful. This is a little gem , also forgot to mention the generously sized garden area. Will definitely be returning very soon.

This pub is lovely and has a good bit of history too. My friend took me for lunch. Neither had been before. The bar staff were friendly as was the new manager. Nicely decorated and cozy. They also hold live music, bingo, quiz nights and have a lovely dog friendly beer garden.
Our food we had was for Starters: Garlic and Stilton mushrooms with toasted bloomer and mini butters. This was delicious and a good portion and well worth the £7.
For Mains we had: Lambs liver, bacon, mustard mash, gravy, carrot, broccoli stem and red cabbage served on the side and onion chutney ( I would of preferred actual onions) I enjoyed this but £17 I thought was abit steep but enjoyed it all the same. My friend had Sausage and mash with same veg and gravy. She said it was nice also but found her mash abit dry and would of preferred a corkies type sausage but still enjoyed the meal, it was £15.50.
The presentation was nice not rustic pub grub style if that makes sense.
There's a good array of alcohols, crisps, they do 2 types of chocolate too and pork scratchings. The ladies loo was clean, tidy and well kept.
Overall we had a good time and would go back and try other menu items.

My wife and I had a delicious lunch here this afternoon, we both had the Cumberland sausage and mash followed by a stunning blueberry bakewell with ice cream. The service was impeccable and we wish the new owners every success for the future, we will certainly be returning.

Sorry to be negative but not the best experience for our table of four last Saturday. I am ex hospitality in all aspects and been lots of pubs and hotels nearly forty years ! I know pub is under new ownership and tweaking to be done but these were my points for our dissatisfaction !
1 Prawn cocktail not authentic whatsoever!
2 bruchetta poor lack of tomato and very disappointing for what we paid !
Did say to waitress we were dissatisfied but not really much response but would be passed on to chef !
3 Had to leave table to get drink at bar and leave my dinner as no waitress asked if we wanted anymore drinks !
Staff I noticed were serving food and then serving behind bar which possibly neglected the customers that were actually eating in restaurant area ! We spent good money and gave a good service charge on our descretion
The chef?s PPE was a concern too in the kitchen and both are very brave in a hazardous job !
Main course and desert was no complaints so well done !
Our experience on recommendations was not what we expected but would give another chance .

We noticed a sign saying the pub is under new management so we decided to pop in. 3 hours later we left having had a delicious meal and drinks. The staff were so friendly and the newly decorated bar area was bright whilst retaining a country feel. We will be back!

Wow, what a gem! We stumbled upon this place wanting a little bite to eat and a drink and I?m so glad we did. We were met my Mia and Tracy who were so lovely, friendly and welcoming! We ordered food and we were so impressed - super tasty and fresh. It was hard to choose from the menu as there was so many yummy things on there. Be aware - this food is cooked fresh with local ingredients!! It?s not a Wetherspoons so don?t expect it to be out the kitchen within 5 minutes of ordering. I loved the option of games at the bar too. I can?t wait to return!! The new owners Have certainly made a good impression on us and I will be back.

Popped in today as heard the pub was under new management. Had a lovely meal (pie and fish and chips) menu choices and quality really was a great improvement on the previous visit. There was a great selection of drinks and the staff were so lovely and helpful. Honestly couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend making a visit here and enjoying a wonderful experience.
