Usually great, but took the car in for possible repair as engine temperature hasn't been reaching the usual halfway mark. The mechanics seemed to think there wasn't a problem before even looking and said that it's cold out. Also I've probably had the AC on and not driven it hard enough. Explained how I'd just been on a long road trip across France doing 80mph for long stretches and it still wasnt getting warm enough. It takes a long time just to reach 1 bar and fluctuates between 0-3 bars. Not stable at the usual 4 it was reaching pretty quickly... When I picked the car up they said they drove it hard and got the temp up. Also that my AC was on when I purposely hadn't been using it?.. I drive away feeling like I'd wasted their time and it immediately started happening again.. Im not a mechanic but assume they sat there revving the engine until it got hot and didn't check the thermostat at all.. everywhere Ive looked online since suggests it's likely the thermostat stuck or partially open. Very disappointed.Edit - I can also now confirm the thermostat needed replacing.

As a single mother with a son who likes all things with wheels it gets complicated for me sometimes but they are always happy to help in there especially Jay on this occasion! Thank you

Didn't have to wait too long for a booking for free brake check, and problem easily identified by James and his staff. After advising of cost to repair, Laurence repaired our brakes and a phone call from James advised our car was ready to be collected. James is a genuinely helpful manager of this branch and he and his staff are to be commended.

Bulb fitted, but by the time I got home the casing had fallen off. Had to go all the way back to get it done again. Job then completed correctly. Staff very friendly, but fitting charges are very expensive. It costs £9 to fit a bulb that costs about £1! I usually try to fit the bulbs myself, but as this was a MOT failure, I didn't want to risk it!

Had car booked in for brakes and battery alternator check, dropped it off at the booking time and went to collect 2 and a half hours later and was told that the person I handed my keys to did not tell the others that my car was there, so what a waste of time, I will never use this company again, my car has still the same trouble and I am none the wiser.

My recent experience at Halfords Autocentre in Newhaven had its ups and downs. Although the staff were friendly and professional, the customer experience was subpar. Despite having a booked appointment, I had to wait over two hours to have two tyres fitted. This was frustrating and disappointing.On a positive note, the staff at Halfords Autocentre were friendly. They were attentive to my questions and concerns, making me feel valued as a customer. Additionally, the pricing for the tyre fitting service was reasonable, offering good value for the money.However, due to the excessive wait time and the lack of respect for the scheduled appointment, I'm hesitant to return to Halfords Autocentre anytime soon. While the staff's professionalism was commendable, the lack of punctuality detracted from the overall experience.Considering these factors, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Halfords Autocentre in Newhaven. Potential customers should be aware of potential delays and consider alternative options if time is a priority for them.Service: Tires

If I could give zero stars I would. Booked my car in for a full service and MOT on Monday morning. As I pulled up at 8.20am they tried to contact me. When I went in I was told the diesel emissions testing machine had broken on Friday so they couldn?t do my MOT! The person sitting at the desk said I was just about to call you but noticed you pulling up. 9 mins before my appointment is supposedly enough time to give someone notice. The staff were so unhelpful when I asked if another local centre could fit me in and didn?t check. The manager I presume just was rude and their whole attitude was poor. I will never use Halfords Service Centres ever again as this is the 2nd time they?ve let me down. I ranted as I left as my MOT ran out the next day. Luckily I found a great place in Hove who did my MOT that morning.

Brilliant garage .. very professional squeezed me in to help me out .And kept me fully informed as to when my car would be ready . And i got a discount for being a member of the car club. What more could you ask for. Well done halfords team at newhaven.

Booked in online over a week ago for a service and Mot for my van. Organised a day that it would be free, also someone to pick me up. Driving there this morning I get a call to say they can?t service vans and the website still lets you book it. Absolute waste of my time waiting for this and taking a day off to get the van in.
