Lovely cosy pub in the countryside. The park and mini golf are the big upside for families.

When you walk in you are greeted with a warm smile and assistance from the young lady Emma , she sees that you have top service throughout your meal or your visit . The compliments that you hear her get from customers are always positive and welcoming . The food is always hot and delicious ! Thank you half moon staff for your welcome approach . Nothing is too much trouble for you , you all go up and beyond .

Great little traditional pub. Had an enjoyable meal here with friends. Really enjoyed the breakfast style burger and thought they were quite generous with the bread for the soup (so often in pubs and restaurants, they scrimp on the bread).
Parking: Large free to use car park at the rear of the pub. Plenty of space albeit was not well-lit.

Stopped by twice for lunch when hiking South Downs Way. Super friendly staff - food is decent. First visit there was a 45min delay for the food, so the staff offered us a free round of drinks as apology which was very much appreciated!

Sunday Lunch after a great family walk.
Very warm welcome, superb roast lunches (including an excellent vegetarian wellington). Childrens' menu was well enjoyed by our young grandchildren
Kid-friendliness: Our grandchildren (4 & 6) were made to feel very welcome and the childrens' dishes were excellent and very good value

Had a lovely meal here. Good spacious car park, staff were attentive and friendly, the waitress went through the menu telling us catch of the day, soup of the day etc. Great choices on the menu. Delicious food. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of the food. Tucked straight in. Would definitely come here again.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Dad loved it, especially seeing our relatives in the painting on the wall! Brilliant. 10/10

We had a really poor meal here, very disappointing. The fish and chips was meagre, the batter tasted unpleasant, we weren?t warned they had run out of peas so it was a surprise it came instead with a very small garnish. The ?butchers sausages? were not good quality. We complained and the waiter offered free desserts + drinks which was appreciated. We unfortunately were also very cold at our table.

We were too cold in the area we were sat. I Think £9.95 for a small piece of sticky toffee pudding and £6.25 for a pint of flat cider is abit much
Roast was ok.
Wouldn't bother coming again

A lovely warm dog friendly pub which was so needed after a long misty walk across the South Downs. We had warm bread, a delicious bowl of olives and fish and chips which were exceptional - I?ve never had such crisp batter with good quality fish too. Will definitely come back!

Great as ever. Chef's night off so Tom, the manager (also a chef) made our food. Table by the fire and dog friendly.

Great food. Note they have a Sunday menu with roasts, different to the normal menu. I've attached a picture (November 2024). Normal menu not served on Sundays. The food was exceptional. I had the vegetable soup with bread and it was beautifully flavoured with lovely soft bread and butter. Others ordered the burgers and said they were very good. You have to try the cheesecake with the mango sorbet. Staff were very attentive but needed to give us a bit more time after we'd sat down to order drinks and when paying the bill (we'd not finished eating). They did say they were new and were still very polite. Unfortunately there were a number of tables with families whose children were running about the place. They spooked my dog and we're very, very loud. This ruined the atmosphere for me though I understand there's not much the staff can do about this. The pub was very warm temperature wise and with scenic surrounds. Dog friendly throughout. They have a mini golf course which we didn't have time to try. Will go again!
