Came here for a roast dinner with the family, my wife had the beef which was a very generous serving of meat, then there was mine, I had the lamb which I had to pay extra for and I got 2 very very small slices of lamb which were stone cold so I sent it back. Roasted beetroot ? Since when was that on a traditional roast dinner ? Roast potatoes tasted like they had been sitting around all day, parsnips where rock hard undercooked, no flavour to anything. We had visited this pub a few times previously and it was all good, not sure if it?s been taken over recently but seems to be very poncy now and the food not very good. Also very expensive, £75 for 2 roasts and kids sausage and chips, Coke and a lemonade. My last time visiting here unfortunately

Fantastic friendly and helpful staff from check in to breakfast service. Room was clean comfortable and spacious. Food portions are large and food was delicious.

Visited the bull yesterday (19/07) with 2 of my friends and we were sooo dissapointed with the food. Firstly the menu online is not the same as the menu we got when we arrived. Not so many options to choose from. The waiter told us that its because they havent updated the menu online and that most of the things on the online menu were for sundays?. Secondly my friend ordered duck which came undercooked. Sent it back. When it came back it had a smell of rotten meat. He couldnt take even one bite of it. When we told the waiter about it he just said oooh maybe its because it has now been overcooked . We paid £97 for 3 plates (duck, steak and supreme chicken) and 3 soft drinks with zero pudding . Never ever going back . Disapointe

Nice spot on a green on A272. A load of flags on display. Inside v. nicely presented. Had a pint of Sussex which tasted excellent. But was a shocking £6.25! Spent a very peasant couple of hours going through the music in my briefcase and after a cup of coffee got back on the A272 to Hastings. Apart from the price of the beer could not have spent a more pleasant afternoon in Sussex.

I would give the bull 6 stars if I could. Amazing rooms at a reasonable price, delicious food and really impressive breakfast with a great spread. This now one of my favourite places to stay in the south of England

Great pub in the lovely village of Newick. Been here a few times and love it. Great selection of drinks. There are some great food options, plenty of selection for kids. However, I would recommend going on a Sunday as the roast is amazing. Just mind your head on your way to the bar.

We had dinner at the Bull it?s a beautiful old pub with a cozy atmosphere. The food was outstanding (the pie, and the ginger and lime sponge in particular) - delicious, good portions and beautifully presented. Service was excellent. Can?t fault it!

Lovely pub. Great atmosphere. Amazing food. Quick, friendly and efficient service. This Pubs likes dogs! Which is refreshing and very nice. They even sell gluten/hide free dog chews at the bar. I love the Bull and keep returning because of the easy parking and friendly staff and atmosphere. We had the crab linguine and the fish and chips with minted mushy peas. 100% recommend. Food came to the table quickly. Piping hot. Fantastic value for money.
This pub is a brilliant find. I highly recommend you give it a try.

Really lovely room in old coaching house. Pub lovely with good choice of drinks. Good food menu changed every day. Lovely staff. Great base for visiting Lewes and surrounding South Downs.

Found this establishment to be not friendly, combined with a very limited menu.
Having opted for the fish and chips, my wife chose to have a salad with her fish. The battered fish look OK but the fish was over cooked.
My wife's salad was running in oil and unpleasant. The ambience is poor and the food over priced.
