I was delighted to find a Jaeger jacket with a matching cashmere jumper! However, when I went to purchase the items I was asked to pay £28; which quickly escalated to £38, I was satisfied with my purchase despite the unclear labelling. When I returned home I was horrified to discover the jumper had many a holes in the knit, including some rather unsightly sewing repairs. I returned to the shop to address the problem as I felt that £18 for a jumper with impairments was a tad extortionate for my wallet - I was received with nothing but offensive customer service from the manager, I informed her that i would still like to purchase the garment just at a more reasonable price, the label informed me of no impairments to the garment. she returned the item for me and wouldn't allow me to re purchase the item! Feeling as if another customer would purchase the hole ridden jumper for that price. I was told the garment would have to be re-priced and sorted, and that it was now not for sale!I cannot help but feel entirely offended by the situation, with a willing customer at the ready cancer research should be grateful to receive this donation! Clearly the intent was not to welcome money for a well deserved charity but was rather more occupied with providing a rude customer service.I now have a jacket, which I love, without it's counter part ? I will not be returning to this store, and subsequently will not be giving any of my hard earned money to this store. Good luck cancer research in selling a hole ridden jumper!

Clean nicely presented Charity shop, though as with a lot charity shops these days sometimes get their pricing policy absolutely wrong. I was in there 2 days ago and spotted a brand new next dress with labels etc. The "Next" shop price would have been £40, and Cancer Research were selling it for £14.95. The problem is although it was a nice enough dress, it was possibly a few seasons old (at least) and the savvy shopper would be able beat the price for more recent "Next" fashion in the Next Sales or one of their clearance shops. But to be fair a week before I bought a fabulous brand new next blouse for £4.95, which was about the right price although top of the normal price range for this type of type of charity shop. I would say that prices in this shop tend to be on average at the higher end when compared say with the British Heart Foundation further up Lewes High Street.

This large Cancer Research Shop, sits on the bottom corner of the High Street, and just over the road from the Pedestrianised Friars Walk area, so it's in one of THE prime shopping locations in Lewes, which is good for a charity shop, as I bet McDonald's, Primark etc..are just waiting to snap it up. I wasn't too hopeful of seeing anything I liked in here as I walked past, as I thought the clothes would be less eclectic and fashionable than the ones in Brighton (due to the demographic). Yet I was delighted and surprised to see on their racks a really nice Parka Coat on sale for only £14.50, which was a total and utter bargain. On top of the Parka, there happened also to be a full bodied ski suit, which although I didn't need or want, would have saved some person perhaps hundreds of pounds on buying a new one. Other than the clothes, there are lots of little trinkets and odds and ends, that are nicely stacked and exhibited, to get your teeth into, as well as cards and books to browse.

There are so many huge charity shops in Lewes! This is another huge and well stocked charity shop and it's a great one for rummaging. Some charity shops are so overstocked that you just tend to scan things looking for anything promising. This one has plenty of floor space to manoeuvre so that you can get digging through the rails. There are some nice clothes picked out and displayed and many more high-street brand clothes on the rails. They have a lot of nice ceramics and kitchen china- often nice sets of plates, cups, saucers from very good names like Worcester. As the shop is large they can also accomodate some furniture so you can pick up a nice bedside stand, or bookcase.
