Probably the worst boots, please hire more staff and if you are deadset on keeping the lunch period closed then at the very least update it on google maps.

I?m a 16 year old girl and came in to boots needing help to get emergency contraception. The shop was closing at lunch time and a kind lady let me in even though they were closing 10 minutes earlier than stated. I insisted it was important and she allowed me in.
When I went to the pharmacy a lady asked me what I needed and I told her I needed emergency contraception. She was very willing to help me out and she said give me a moment, and spoke with the man behind the counter. He was very rude to me and told me no-one under 18 is allowed to get emergency contraception from Boots which is just a lie (their website states you have to be 16+ yet they even offer walk-in consultations for under 16s so the over-18 rule is completely made up!).
He told us we?d have to go all the way to Haywards Heath hospital to get a pill. Obviously time is of the essence in this situation and it was clear that the rude man was being flippant and dismissing us so he could get on his lunch break early. Really shocking and really disgusting service in an already distressing situation.
Was it really worth distressing a 16 year old girl and completely ruining her day to get a few mins of extra lunch break?

If you go shopping in Lewes between 1.30pm-2.30pm you can buy a novelty birthday card from the independent gift shop, a book about kittens wearing hats from the independent book shop but NOT life-saving medication from the largest pharmacy in Britain.
Closing for an hour in the middle of the day in 2025 is unacceptable and embarrassing. I am absolutely sick of the sight of that sour-faced woman guarding the door and making every customer that dares enter within 10 minutes of the store closing feel like a burden on the staff. Do you even want our money?
You are the reason no one wants to shop on the high street anymore and if you lose your jobs as a result, you'll only have yourselves to blame.

I love Boots, but this branch really lets them down - it?s an embarrassment. How can a store in 2025 possibly close during lunchtime?! I am awaiting a prescription and was told I would receive a text when it was ready - that was five days ago. Thankfully it?s not a crisis situation. I see that all complaining reviews are receiving the same vanilla answer below. That feels in keeping with how much this branch seems to care about the community.

This Boots is a disgrace to what was once a great retail chain. It seems like Boots just wish they could close it but are stuck with a lease they can?t get out of. The shop front is shabby. It shuts at lunchtime, what is that about!? Tills are often not manned or you think they are but then they are not serving. Truly Boots is the worst shop in Lewes and is an embarrassment to what was once a great brand years ago. Boots you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Genuinely the worst service I?ve ever experienced, the man working on a Sunday was being rude to every single customer trying to get there prescription I waited 40 minutes when I was told I was going to wait 15 when it was eventually called over to be given it he was so rude and tried to charge me for a prescription which was made very clearly I was going to have it for free as I had just been in lewes vic for about 2 hours waiting around how boots allow people to work in a job like that is beyond me. Honestly go anywhere else.

Went to collect an emergency prescription for baby formula..was told that they didn?t have any when it was on their shelf and than questioned the need for the baby milk as I had some a two weeks ago! Waiting time ridiculous plus phone is never answered.

Felt very let down as my order didn't turn up on the Saturday as promised, but after speaking to Carol on the Sunday, she and her staff sorted it and i got my Chanel order. So thank you, Carol
