Booked late on a Saturday in August so lucky to get a table in a dog friendly pub. Landlord was friendly and accommodating and the menu offered a good variety of choices. Food was excellent and portion sizes generous. Drinks as pricey as anywhere else thanks to Rachael Thieves . .. but food prices were very fair and represented great value considering the quality. All in all a great little place to discover only slightly off the beaten track.

We turned up from a nearby caravan site where this pub had been recommended and a useful menu available to see the extensive range of choice of food there was available. We went along on a Tuesday evening; it was heaving! But in a good way - it was the bi-weekly quiz night and people were eating prior to the questions being delivered by the fantastic landlord.
Although busy, the landlord and staff were able to find us a table. The choice of food was excellent; a wide range of pub and classic menus that few pubs offer nowadays. Despite being so busy, the service was excellent and servers came to our table regularly to make sure we had the drinks we needed to accompany the food.
Without doubt, from our experience and judging by the popularity of the place they are doing a great job of serving the public.
Go and sample the hospitality and warm welcome from the landlord and staff; you will not be disappointed!

Used to come here yearly when I was young (around 2002-2010) and used to love having lunch in the garden. Returned this year with my son and had another great meal. It?s a beautiful pub full of character in a great location.

Lovely pub, plenty of seating indoor and out, great service and massive food portions (seriously). Could be a few more pints on draught but covers all bases.

An historic pub with beautiful views over the Rother Valley over to Rye and Camber. Good real ales on draught, friendly, efficient service. Dog friendly.
