Not Impressed ? Very Disappointed
Just wanted to share how disappointed I was with Winchelsea Lodge. It?s in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by fields full of sheep, cattle, and other animals ? and yet they thought it was a good idea to set off fireworks.
It was loud, upsetting, and completely irresponsible. No thought at all for the welfare of the animals in the area or the people who live nearby. In a rural setting like this, you'd expect more care and respect for the environment.
Really not a good choice if you care about animals or the countryside.

Wow! What a brilliant stay. It was our anniversary weekend and we were keen to come and stay at the lodge.
The manager checked us in and upgraded our room to one of their beautiful suits. we checked in late and it wasn't an issue. The bed was so comfy. Then in the morning, we had breakfast which was a buffet style spread. Everything was cooked to perfection and lots of variety.
We will be back! Thanks for having us!

Food was very bad and when I complained the owner became aggressive. Really upsetting for the family that they use (without permission) Spike Milligan's name on the restaurant. I see from other reviews that the manager is a notorious c**t and completely unaware of how the rest of the world sees him.

Me and my husband went here for a carvery as it was all ways good but I must say we didn't enjoy any of it the patatoes. Parsnips and carrots soaked in oil beef was so tough.and the lamb was mostly fat.i won't be going there for any carvery

We stopped here for breakfast. The Ultimate breakfast is quite substantial with two sausages, two bacon, two eggs, two hash browns, mushrooms, tomato, beans and toast. Tea or coffee refills. All was well cooked and very tasty. The sausages were a bit too seasoned for our liking. We normally have Cumberland or Lancashire at home but neither of us could eat both sausages.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are wheelchair accessible tables but hot drinks are upstairs. The server did offer to help.

Best food I've eaten in a restaurant for years. We stayed at the hotel and get complimentary breakfast. Which again is a top choice of hot, cold, fruit etc.. but the diner menu has some crackers. Pork belly, sirloin steak, rack of lamb all 10/10. Can highly recommend for a complete eating experience any time of day!!

Lovely Staff atmosphere and fantastic food have been here a couple of times back tonight for birthday meal and have booked table for Sunday carvery which is amazing quality and good value for money ???

We were staying at the lodge,came down for breakfast.
Nice fruit and average range of breakfast food,but it was really good,
Pastries and cereals nice.
But bananas were not brilliant

I have had decent takeaways from here over the last 18 months but the last 3 times they have not been providing this sevice for different reasons despite a pinned post on their Facebook advertising takeaways. So don't rely on this, call before visiting and have a back up option ready. Or like me give up after 3 consecutive disapointments and find an alternative you like.
