Rude owner that doesn't deserve to be in business. Queue right to the entrance and owner sat behind the counter at the front reading newspaper and when I asked him if he could help with the queue he took exception to being disturbed from his mobile phone and newspaper that he was reading. It appeared he felt uncomfortable being asked and refused to help saying he didn't work in the post office. Maybe he was confused and some what unwell as he was very much in the post office behind the counter. I see from the reviews that there's a theme here of very bad service which disappoints me in this friendly place that is Hove. If you are reading this Mr Owner or post office worker, I specialise in customer experience training and coaching, so drop me a line if you want to turn your bad reputation around and start to get 4 or even 5 star reviews on here. Failing that, go work in a mortuary.

I asked for 2nd class service tracked but no WiFi so asked if I could run outside to get address. Woman was very rude, owner came out and was confrontational? Said why don't I go to London Rd post office instead. Glad I stood in queue for 10 mins to have this strange experience.

Quite possibly the worst post office in existence, queue absolutely ridiculous, I would much rather walk into town to use the post office there. Cans of drink for sale with visible rust on them. Incompetent and rude staff, the owner is the rudest man I?ve ever dealt with. Please avoid where necessary

Better than my local post office hardly any queues and very helpful although now you have to spend minimum £3 on your card but that's a given these days in small independent newsagents.

The lady at the newsagent side was very pleasant and helpful on helping me choose a bag to use to post a parcel. The post office side was polite and professional too.

Saturday pm 10th December, long queue but lady at counter was brilliant, fast, efficient, polite & helpful. 1st time I've been there as it's not my local PO but I'll make the effort to go the extra distance in future.

I am new to Hove and had to post a letter urgently today. I ready the reviews and was expecting to be treated rudely but imagine my surprise to have received wonderful service from the two ladies working there. The lady behind the Post Office counter went beyond the call of duty by sealing my envelope which was not holding its seal very well. She used the post offices own tape. The other lady at the general counter was equally as pleasant and polite. Perhaps there has been a change of staff there. Anyway, let?s hope it continues and I shall be a regular customer

Horrible, rude staff. They treat customers with no respect. They should not have the licence to run a post office.

Don?t give your business to rude staff. The rudest staff I have encountered in any post office I have been to in my life. Stood at the front of the queue for 5 minutes while a lady cleaned behind the counter and while the counter clerk assisted a customer with a passport application. After the queue got longer and longer the lady cleaning asked if I was collecting. Then decided to check for my package. When I asked why she didn?t ask me in the first place I was told she was too busy cleaning. I asked what about the customer and customer service and was told ?you should stay home!?. Had my 5 year old daughter with me at the time which was very disrespectful to talk to me like that in front of her. Totally unprofessional and rude.

Horrible service and a messy environment! You would think that a post office on the main street of Hove would have some standard and organization. Well you will be surprised? Instead you get a horrific smell, dust everywhere and unorganized documentations flying around. Not to mention, that the owner is always rude and never cares about his clients, just the money they bring him. Awful service, don?t recommend it to anyone.

There's a joke in Hove that goes...if you're going to Church Road Post Office take a packed lunch cos you'll be there some time. It's famous for the waiting time to be served. It can be very very long. There are three serving windows but there's only ever one person serving. Oh, sometimes they serve people at a Post Office point at the shop's main counter, but that doesn't really help much because the person serving there also has to deal with store customers not wanting postal services. The staff are pleasant enough and I'm sure they work very hard but it basically needs more staff.I once went in when there was no-one else waiting....the person serving was as surprised as me....and we had a little celebration.

Often try and ?upsell? to a more expensive postal service that you don?t need. Experienced this multiple times. Often unnecessary queues when other people working in the shop could help

Convenience the only thing going for it. Currency almost as expensive as the airport and postage prices squeezed and inflated at every opportunity.

Before I went to Zurich, I stopped off at the Post Office to get some Swiss Francs. The lady at the desk said they had none left, and just as I was about to leave, her assistant said "we actually have one CHF100 note left."She rummaged around, eventually found it, and I bought it.When I got to Zurich, I was told that the note I had bought was the old note and not accepted anymore."No bother," I thought. "I'll just use my card and return the note when I get back."I went back to the P.O today and the lady wasn't there, her husband was though, and he told me they wouldn't take it back because even though I had a receipt, I couldn't prove that was the *actual* note they sold me.I asked him to what end would I go to Zurich with a real note and return with an older version, or where I would get an old note from."Not the point, we need proof.""Why don't you check your cameras?""They only last 5 days.""Would you like to see my transactions while I was in Zurich.""No, you'll have to call a helpline."I'm going back on Monday to see if his wife remembers selling me the *actual* note. The way I was treated was very disappointing, I've been going there for years and I was treated like I was trying to rip them off.I didn't go to Blackpool, I went to Zurich, one of the world's most expensive cities. I don't need to swindle anyone, I just want my money back for something I was sold that was unusable and was not my fault.
