For 1o years I have been putting fuel and washed my car there regularly using the automatic brushes. Last time I was there over 40 minutes and got a parking fine. I used the toilet, brushes and then vacuum my car , perfume..
I emailed the parking people and the best they can do is is reduce the fine to £20.00
Total disrespect, I sent evidence as I paid with my card each transaction.
I cannot find any email for Shell management just a land-line.
No respect for clients and clearly they have cameras and can tell that I did not parked there and leave the car there...
I was there 50 minutes as I used the brushes and then had to use some wipes to get rid of birds mess that not got remove on the wash...
10 minutes extra as max time is 4o minutes=20 pounds

Trying to get fuel and 3 kids out to the toilet and grab snacks in 20mins is a joke anymore time and you get fined
Why sell coffee and snacks if you are unable to stop and eat it?
Money grab and shameful hope the company goes bust roll on EV

I have used this service station for many years for fuel and car washing sometimes shopping and always been fine. They have now got an independent parking company monitoring the site now so if you want to get fuel and wash your car (especially if there is a queue for the car wash) don?t go in there as the maximum time you can spend ON THE SITE is 20 minutes (and no return to the site within 2 hours). Now the parking monitors are in there I won?t be going back in there and risking a £60 fine again!

Boship services. A small a-road rest area on the A22 near Horsebridge (at the top of the Hailsham bypass). Not much about this place, but it does the job if you need coffee. Firstly, Boship is accurately signposted from the A22, allowing customers plenty of warning for these facilities & how to locate them. It?s not a straight forward place to get to with the confusing roundabout access. The site is limited on vehicle parking. There are no spaces for HGVs or caravans here & when busy, the limited car parking spaces are likely to fill up. Sadly little can be done to rectify this as the site is limited on ground space. There are plenty of EV charging points however, meaning owners of such vehicles can recharge easily here. The forecourt is operated by Shell & provides moderately expensive fuel & a garage with a Budgens store, Costa Express machines and Deli by Shell. The forecourt was nice and quiet during my visit. It didn?t smell nice at all (like drains) but was clean, tidy and everything was well organised. The toilet facilities in this garage were occupied as I visited, but have been refurbished recently. There is a Travelodge motel on site so customers can achieve an overnight stay here if needed, which is always handy. Now the amenity building itself, which used to house a Little Chef restaurant and now offers a Starbucks, which opened in 2013, and a Greggs, which opened in 2018. Firstly, we have a takeaway Greggs built to the side. Such a good idea as Greggs is quick, consistent and good value for money. The remainder of the amenity building is a large Starbucks lounge, with plenty of customer seating & more toilet facilities. This Starbucks has been refurbished very recently, & was extremely clean, stylish and bright. The change from dark decoration to oak/lighter woods and pale grey floor tiles is welcomed as the interior of this Starbucks used to be too dark. It?s also very spacious, meaning this Starbucks copes well with larger crowds, typically created in the summer holidays. The toilet facilities in Starbucks are much nicer than those in the forecourt. The toilets were pristinely clean and smelt nice. Gents has 1 toilet and 2 urinals, which is quite limited. There is also a Disabled WC with a baby changing table. Overall, Boship is a very basic place with little in the way of facilities, but it has a nice spacious amenity building, which was empty and clean during my visit, & modern, pleasant toilets. Not bad for an A-Road coffee stop!

Unfortunately I had to give these money grabbers 1 star to write a review. After using this petrol station for over 30 years ( usually for fuel and go ) on this one occasion I brought some lunch and sat there for a break and ate it. As you would in a service station to save you crashing while trying to eat and drive. The next thing I know I've got a £100 fine through the post for staying longer than 20 minutes. I will never use this place again and make sure anyone I know realises how they treat their customers.
