Was there to dine alone. They gave me a window seat where I can enjoy the seabreeze as well as my dinner?? I ordered a local sea bass for main and all of it was so delicious. The sauté potatoes were crispy outside and soft inside (just like the texture of mashed potatoes).
The sea bass were marinated with parsley and garlic butter, the marinade did not take away the flavour of the sea bass, it was balanced so well that I can taste the freshness of the sea bass and also the flavour they added.
With the salad, I thought it was just a normal salad. But nope, there were cucumbers, bell peppers, green leaves, cherry tomatoes cooked to perfect ripeness.
It was also extra kind for the restaurant to have given me crispy squid on the side?? The squid was SO FRESH, not just soft (like the frozen ones). Perfect!

Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. Possibly the best place to eat in Hastings. And in a great location near the Hastings Contemporary gallery, the picturesque old town, and almost on the beach where the fishing boats haul out like seals.

Had a meal with family for my birthday, I had their special of the day Skate in brown butter with capers, as did my husband, others ordered plaice with prawns & traditional fish & chips, not only was the food exceptional the service was very reminiscent of traditional old style service with a smile.
Will definitely be returning & recommend to anyone who appreciates good food & service.

Best seafood we've had for some time. Scallops in a garlic sauce were so tasty. Fresh seafood was excellent. Local smoked haddock was wonderful. Great selection of wines and a fabulous cider. Well fed and watered. Highly recommended as top quality seafood restaurant.

You've tried the rest, now try the best! In my view this is by far and away the best fish orientated restaurant in Hastings. You can tell that the fish is really fresh from the amazing flavours and textures, and the fact that the menu is regularly changed and updated, especially the specials board, depending on what's been caught that morning. The venue is situated opposite the Shipwreck Museum and has minimal external signage, so you could easily miss it when going past (refer to my picture to help you identify it). Friendly staff provide a great service. You can watch your food being prepared and cooked if you want to! The chef also comes out to either serve or to have a chat.

Good food for adults but why do restaurants think chicken nuggets or fish and chips is acceptable to children. We asked for a small adult portion and were told this wasn't possible. Come on, we can do better than this not all kids want chips. Not a place to go with kids that like their food.
